The Restless Ghost

Posted by runescapecoin

Start: Begin by speaking with Father Aereck in the Lumbridge Church.
Skills: Able to defeat a level 13 Skeleton.
Quests: None!
What You Need: An Amulet of GhostSpeak.

Scroll down to the end of the guide to find a ‘Fast Quest Walkthrough’.

——————————————————————————–

Getting Started

Firstly, talk to Father Aereck and ask him if he has a quest for you. He can be found inside the Lumbridge church, standing around the altar. He says that he needs someone to make the ghost in the Church Graveyard go away. He mentions that his friend Father Urhney may be able to help you.

Leave the church and follow the road north until you reach the General Store, and then head west along the dirt path until it ends. Now head southeast through the swamp, or head south along the ocean until you find a small house. Talk to Father Urhney and tell him that Father Aereck sent you. Say that a ghost is haunting the graveyard, and he gives you an Amulet of GhostSpeak so that you can talk to it.

Helping the Ghost

Go back to the church in Lumbridge and walk into the graveyard behind it. The ghost is inside the small building in the corner of the graveyard, and you may need to open and close the Coffin to get him to appear. With your new amulet on, speak to the ghost, and when he asks if you understood him, tell him that you did. He says that a Warlock has stolen his skull, and that may be why he can’t rest.

Now leave the graveyard and follow the road north until you reach the General Store. Head west along the same dirt path you traveled before, but this time keep to the same direction until you reach a road. Follow it south into the Wizard’s Tower, and climb down the ladder. Walk along the corridor to the door on the east side. You’ll see an altar; search this to find a Skull. A level 13 Skeleton will then jump out at you, but since you already have the skull, just run away!

Visit the ghost back in the Graveyard, and tell him that you’ve found his skull. He needs you to put it in his coffin, and after you do so he will be able to rest.

Sorry guys, I have been busy lately so I normally don’t have too much time. By the time I jump on RS and buy/sell my flips I have to get going for work etc.Good news though. I have moved my way up from the 4mill I began with to a nice 29mill. That has been through out around 1 and a half months worth of flipping. The bad news is that I invested 16.5mill into dragon arrows right before they dropped. I was flipping them regularly whilst they were rising and I thought there was still another good 2 days of growth in them. From their drop so far I am still trying to sell them however the price has dropped so much the price for all is already down to 14mill so I have lost at least 2.5mill with them so far.Slim I’ll be sure to try and post some screen shots by the weekend for you.At the moment I have flipping Oak and Maple logs. I do this in 50-75k lots and make around 500k for each (1mill per flip for both.)Doing this amount allows me to put the buy offer in overnight and get them selling whilst I am at work the next day. Before I put so much money in dragon arrows I was able to also do the same with yew logs at a smaller amount to add an extra 300-400k to the flip giving me a nice total of 1.4mill per 24-48 hour flip. Also if anyone is looking for an item to flip, Dragon Platelegs give an amazing profit regardless on whether they are dropping or rising. I have been doing at least flip for 10 dragon legs per day over the past month and they are still working a treat. It is an easy 200k per flip.——–I have managed to gain a real advantage in flipping dropping items, I have very rarely flipped a rising item (dragon platelegs are an exception). Although I probably shouldn’t say that considering the loss I am currently having with dragon arrows.Statistics: Posted by StormedS — Thu Jan 06, 2011 5:46 am

. About this guide (ATG)|
This guide is to inform you of how to obtain the set items, what they do when
you have the fullset, and the stats on them. I get asked many, many questions
about my armour (I myself use Torag), so I thought I would write this guide so
that everyone can know.

2. How to obtain Set items (HTO)

i. Coming Prepared (CPR)

There are many different items that you could take to help you, but these are
the items I suggest.

- Fremmenik Helm (Archer, Warrior, Beserker etc), melee def and slight mage def
- Plate armour, body, legs and shield
- Hide armour, change to this when fighting the mage, just take body and legs
- Melee weapon, although they have low magic def, you will need to wear robes
and then you will suffer from low defence, so mage isn’t recommended. Also
there are no “safe spots”
- Spade, this is required
- Teleport runes for when chest is opened
- Runes for bones to bananas, 1 nat, 2 water, 2 earth, sounds stupid, but the
extra food really helps if you want to rack up lots of kills.
- As many sharks as you can carry

ii. Getting there (GTT)

The set items are found in the new Barrows area. This is located to the east of
Mort Myre. You do not have to complete any quests to get there, except Priest
in Peril to get to Canifis. Mort Myre is located far south of Canifis. First,
you must go through the swamps. Here, you will get attacked by Shades. They
do not hurt you, but may turn you food into Rotten food, which you obviouslly
can’t eat =p. Once, through here, (head south) go along the long winding
road, then head east through Mort Myre, til you come to a bridge. Simply cross
it and head north and east, into the fenced area and there you are.

You will see 6 mounds of earth. When you are ready, click the Dig option on
your spade, and you will enter a catacomb. Inside is a sarcophagus. When you
click on it, you will get attacked by one of the 6 brothers, or find the way
to the catacomb tunnels. See “What to fight (WTF)” to ,see info on the
brothers. If you get a brother attack you, you can either kill him
(recommended), or go back up the stairs to the surface. All the brothers you
don’t kill before entering the tunnels will attack you randomly when you open
any door in the tunnels, which could take you by surprise.

Note - While you are in any of the catacombs, your prayer decreases about every
20 seconds.

When you have killed the 5 brothers that appear in the catacomb chambers
or you are ready, find the chamber that leads to the tunnels, click the
sarcophagus, and say you want to go in.

The layout of the tunnels is fairly simple, but it can be hard to navigate,
because you can only open certain doors. Your best bet to get to the chest is
to head toward the middle, first, go to one side, either north or south, then
head east or west as far as possible. You will now be in a corner. Go the
other direction as you went last, across 3 rooms. Now go the opposite
direction to the way you went first. You should end up at a door, that when
you click open, a puzzle appears. It is a fairly simple puzzle. If you get
it right, you will be able to open the door and get to the chest. If not,
repeat the above steps, but go in different directions to find another door
into the chest room.

It is best to wait outside the door with the puzzle, and kill the monsters in
there to count towards your kill count. Also, after about 20 minutes, they
will no longer auto attack you. This is helpful as it is very annoying when
you are trying to solve the puzzle and you keep getting attacked. However,
if you go through a door, you will get auto attacked again.

Once you have opened the chest, you will need to teleport out if possible, if
not, go as fast as you can to the south east, and up the ladder. When you
open it, rocks will fall on you every few seconds, damaging you.

Note - The only time your kill count resets to 0 is when you open the chest.

iii. What to fight (WTF)

There are 6 brothers located in the barrows. They are -

- Ahrim the Blighted (Level 98)
He is the mage. Could hit you the hardest if you’re in plate armour.

- Dharok the Wretched (Level 115)
Uses Great Axe. Can hit hard, but it’s quite slow, so you’ll have time
to eat.

- Guthan the Infested (Level 115)
One of the hardest, second highest defence, and annoying set effect.

- Karil the Tainted (level 98)
The ranger. Not too hard to hit, but can still hit hard, at a fairly
quick speed.

- Torag the Corrupted (level 115)
Has the highest defence, and uses crush weapons, but doesn’t hit that
hard.

- Verac the Defiled (Level 115)
Not very high defence, but the flail can hit through protect from
melee.

There are also several other types of monster located in the tunnels. They
are low levels, and are easy to kill. They too count toward your kill count.

iv. Does kill count matter (DKC)

As of yet, I am not certain whether kill count affects the reward you get in
the chest. However, I think that it is mainly luck, and whether you have killed
the 6 brothers or not. For example, I opened the chest at 166 kills, and got
Dharok’s helm, and once at 550+ and got runes and coins.

Your chances of getting a set item or not good, but the exp is fairly fast while
you are killing there, so it is worth it for that. As a general guide, it seems
better to kill all 6 brothers, and at least 100 kill count, because even if you
dont get a set item, you will get considerably more runes.

At the time of the creation of this, there are four different types of Dragon Weapons out there for those of you who have an Attack level of 60 or above, and who has beaten the Hero’s and Lost City quests. But how do you know which one to use?

We’ll start off with the pros and cons of the different weapons — Longsword, Battleaxe, Dagger, and Mace.

Longsword - A fast weapon that deals a decent amount of damage. When I did this weapon test, I had a Strength level of 93. At the time, this weapon could hit a maximum of 24. It is also very accurate when it comes to slashing damage — slashing damage is good against enemies in chains and enemies in leather armour, not against plated enemies.
Special Attack: The Special Attack with the longsword is a more powerful strike that takes away 25% of your Attack Bar. This attack rarely (if ever) misses and can do more damage, but not always. In Attack Mode and Strength 95, I have hit 28 with this attack (I can usually only do 24 this way).

Battleaxe - In RSC, this is the definite choice, but is it still all that great? The price is still 200,000, but it’s not worth it. Not at a long shot. The slowest of the dragon weapons, and barely any more accurate than the longsword. At the Strength level I had when testing the weapons (93), I could hit a maximum of 26. This is higher than the longsword, but doesn’t even out the slow attack rate. It is however good against plated enemies with the aggressive crush attack, as well as it is good against enemies in chains and/or leather armour. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not. Way too slow.
Special Attack: Temporarily increases Strength by 20 and decreases Attack by 5. It costs all of the Attack Bar and is a good way to “pot up” if you don’t have a Super Strength Potion. Note that if you use this together with a potion, it won’t give you an extra effect.

Dagger - Very weak, very cheap, very fast, and you can poison it. With Strength 93, I think the maximum I could hit was 18 or 19, and it has a very fast attack rate. It’s accuracy is not the best, but good enough to hit at a decent rate. With poison, this weapon is proven to be great against high leveled enemies (100+). Against low-leveled enemies, it kills at the same rate as the battleaxe.
Special Attack: A double attack (one attack that hits as if you attacked twice). This power pretty much works like the longsword and the dagger, only that it’s divided up into two attacks at the same time, instead of one powerful attack. It costs 25% of your Attack Bar.

Mace - Fast but not all that powerful, it does, however, have a Prayer bonus and it mainly attacks with crushing attacks. If you fight high leveled monsters using Prayer, this is the weapon for you. Unless that weapon is a dragon. Dragon leather protects well against the crushing attacks, but you can always use the controlled stab attack against them, so this might still come in handy.
Special Attack: A single powerful swing that costs 25% of your Attack Bar, in the same fashion as the longsword.

Most of the text above is just information taken out of the numbers. But how good do they prove to be in actual combat? I took an hour out of my busy life to test that. I spent 15 minutes with each weapon, fighting baby blue dragons (level 43). Here are the results, counted in kills (and time to bury the bones):

Mace - 33 kills
Dagger - 34 kills
Longsword - 36 kills
Battleaxe - 34 kills

As you can see, it was very close. Sure, some weapons might’ve been lucky, but further testing proved these results to be fairly accurate. Please note that the dagger was not poisoned at the time, so you might want to add one more kill to the dagger’s record.

Another test I’ve done was Longsword vs. Battleaxe in a blue dragon (level 99) killing spree. I drank an attack and strength potion (which increased my Attack from 86 to 97 and Strength from 94 to 106), and then kept count of how many dragons I could kill before the potion affect was gone. Here are the results:

Longsword - Eight kills
Battleaxe - Four kills

As it is with these short tests, some of it may be temporary luck, but Hell, twice as many kills with the Longsword? That’s enough for me to sell off those battleaxes right away (well, you might want to keep one for the rare occasions when you need one; PKing in big teams, out of Super Strength Potions, fighting low-leveled NPCs, etc.).

Summary: Prayer fighting (black demons, for an example), use mace in a combination with poisoned dagger (let the demon get poisoned, then you change to the mace to save Prayer points). Ordinary fighting, longsword. High leveled fighting without Prayer, poisoned dagger in a combination with the longsword. PKing, longsword and poisoned dagger (also, don’t waste your super potions on people who are fighting dragons in the wilderness with robes on, they will run. Stab them in the back).

Q: When should I use my Dragon Battleaxe?
A: If you are fighting enemies that you can easily one-hit, or perhaps when PKing with a big team. It can also be good for its Special Attack, if you don’t have any potions.

And finally, a little pricelist:

Dagger: 30,000 in Zanaris (Lost City), pay a diamond to get in. Worth it if you have weapon poison.
Longsword: 100,000 in Zanaris (Lost City), pay a diamond to get in. Worth it.
Battleaxe: 200,000 in Heroes’ Guild. Not worth it.
Mace: 50,000 in Heroes’ Guild. Worth it if you use Prayer a lot.

Ah, another thing. Dragon Spears.

I haven’t gotten the chance to use one myself yet, seeing as how I’m a poor bastard, but I have the technical information on one. They are rare drops, much like the dragon half shield. A fairly fast and powerful weapon, but with one negative aspect about it — it can only be used for Controlled or Defensive fighting. It has one Defensive option and three Controlled options, but no Accurate or Aggressive ones. It is the ideal weapon for rich people who like to train Defence, though, so if you get one, it might be worth saving. The current price for one is about 3-4,000,000 GP.
A thing I also should mention is that, just as any other spear, the dragon spear is a 2-handed weapon, so you cannot use a shield when wielding it.

I have played Runecape for many years. Sometimes i exchange the experience with my friends. We always can reach an opinion that: We all like PK. I believe most of you also like this activity. Why do so many players like to PK in the game? I think there are some reasons.

First of all, when we PK in the game, we can get other’s equipement when we beat him. Sometimes we can get very good equipment. I really like that. Also, when we beat others, i feel proud. Ummm, just fee like win the championship. Also, PK can prove my skill, ability and combat level.

Then, how can we get victory in PK?

There are only 2 main types “effective” PKers. By effective, I mean able to kill in a 1v1 against a half decent opponent. These two types are range/2h and scim/2h, so pick one.

Range/2h means using a bow + a 2h to KO. Scim/2h means using a scim + a 2h to KO.

Remember, it is VERY important that you risk more than 25k worth of stuff (Not including protected items) or you will get junk for drops. You shoule prepare well for timing, eating, comboing and observing.

The very important thing you should do during the PK is pottiing up and praying up.(If you have prayer).

As the fight begins both players start dealing damage to an opponent. As a PKer there are 5 main things you need to observe and be aware of.

1.Keep a constant look out on your own HP.

2.Know your opponents HP as soon as possible.

3.Keep a constant eye on the amount of food left.

4.Know your opponents last hit is essential in a fight.

5.Know your own max hits.

These 5 points will help you a lot in PKing.

And after the fight, it is honorable to say Gf (Good fight). Wish you have a good result in PKing.

Within the Light

Posted by runescape

hose who have unraveled the mysteries of the plague in West Ardougne, met with the elves and infiltrated the Death Guard will find themselves able to help Arianwyn once again, as they go Within the Light.

In reactivating the Temple of Light’s safeguards, you may have thwarted the Death Guard’s plans to harness the ancient elven power of a certain altar – at least for the time being – but just what is so special about this altar? Why did the elder elves go to such trouble to protect this one particular altar? Find out as you further explore the mysterious Temple of Light.

This quest is a continuation of RuneScape’s longest-running quest line, the first three parts of which – Plague City, Biohazard and Underground Pass – were originally released for RuneScape Classic. Four further quests later – Regicide, Roving Elves, and Mourning’s Ends Parts I and II – plus the Catapult Construction side story, and we reach Within the Light.

As it has been a while since those quests were released, this quest introduces a new NPC in Lletya – the elven scribe – who will happily help you to recall your past elf-related glories. Within the Light ties together some of the strands of this storyline, which will start to give you a better idea of what is to come.

We offer a brand new Postbag from the Hedge this week. In it you’ll find the customary stories, thoughts and opinions of our cast of characters, as well as a request for you to produce party cracker jokes for a Christmas postbag.

Alongside your impressive contributions to the Players’ Gallery, we have five wallpapers to enjoy and download. The God Wars bosses and a battle across the Lum are the focus of the latest batch.

This week, high-level herbalists will find a variety of new, untradeable potions at their disposal. Using your increased knowledge of the Herblore skill, you will find you now have the ability to add tertiary ingredients to some potions to increase their effect.

These potions aren’t just limited to stat boosts either. Have you ever wanted to take your godsword on dragon-slaying trips? Now’s your chance, with the super antifire potion (at level 85). Are you approaching near mastery of the Herblore skill? If so, there’s a potion that may just ‘overload’ your entire body (at level 96) – dare you drink it?

On a side note, those who can mix the extreme magic potion will find it doesn’t work in a similar way to its lower-level equivalents. When used, this potion will boost all offensive spell damage by 40% for a duration of six minutes, and will stack with magic staves that boost magic damage.

Iconis the wizard has set up a strange tent in a quiet field near Falador, not too far from his colleague the Makeover Mage, just through the members’ gate. He’s advertising there the wonders of his new picture-taking magic, which sends a still representation of any adventurer to a completely different plane of existence altogether: the RuneScape forums.

Expose yourself to the mischievous magic of Iconis’s impish business partner in the Photo Booth and you may find that the next post you make on the RuneScape forums will have a picture of your head and whatever was on it when the spell was cast. (Note that you can’t pose for a photo while wearing or wielding borrowed items.)

There are only so many spells the poor imp can perform at any one time, though, so for the first few days, it might take several hours from you taking your picture to it being displayed on the forums. Iconis thanks you for your patience.
