Lumbridge

Posted by runescape

A quiet town on the west bank of the River Lum, Lumbridge presents a good start to your adventuring. The weather is always fine and the citizens are usually friendly. Despite its imposing castle, ruled by the generous Duke Horacio, the town is founded on its farms. There is much to do in Lumbridge, though, and it boasts a variety of training and practice opportunities, whatever your particular interests may be.

The town’s buildings are all made of the same grey stone that has survived through the years. This is the sort of determination that has seen Lumbridge through even the hardest times.

Location

Map of Lumbridge

Lumbridge is the first town you come to when you start your adventures in RuneScape, so finding your way there after your first few expeditions should be no trouble. It is at the centre of the ‘starting area’, bounded by a long wall and guards, who warn players with a skill total below 60 that they are entering more dangerous lands.

It lies directly south of Varrock, the capital of Misthalin and seat of King Roald. East from Lumbridge is the gate to Al Kharid, a major desert town that spans the desert from the Lumbridge gate to the Shantay Pass. Travelling west from Lumbridge will deliver you to Draynor Village, a small town menaced by the ominous Draynor Manor.

As a rural township, there is a cluster of farms to the north where the locals scratch a living from the soil. There is also a windmill, which supplies most of the surrounding region with flour for bread, cakes and other baked treats. To the south of the town is Lumbridge Swamp, a sodden and dreary area filled with twisted mangroves.

Points of Interest

Lumbridge’s points of interest

Shopping in Lumbridge doesn’t need to be expensive. As a promotion to attract customers, the stores of Lumbridge offer free items – as long as you haven’t taken a sample recently.

No guide to Lumbridge would be complete without mentioning the castle. This mighty edifice has stood guard over the town for far longer than anyone can remember and looks set to continue in this way for many years and decades to come.

The farms to the north of Lumbridge are also worth a look, as they are usually quite well stocked and the farmers are not inclined to complain if you are forced to steal a cabbage out of hunger.

The church just north of the graveyard is a good place to recharge your Prayer points, and Father Aereck is always up for a chat about the finer points of modern theology.

The field to the north of the windmill was once the home of Gnomecopter Tours, but since it ceased trading Beefy Bill has set up residence in the surrounding paddock. He will send any unnoted beef, cowhides or flour you have to your bank for a 10% commission.

Travel south of the church and the Lumbridge graveyard and you’ll find a jetty that leads to a Fremennik longboat. This will take you to Daemonheim, where you can train your Dungeoneering skill.

Personalities

Duke Horacio

Duke Horacio is the chivalrous ruler of Lumbridge. His family has a long history of watching over the town, and so he has become a careful and wise Duke, much as his father was before him.

  Sigmund

Sigmund is the Duke’s advisor and a citizen of good standing in Lumbridge. He isn’t fully trusted by the townsfolk, though, as many believe he holds too much influence over the Duke’s decisions.

The Duke can be found in his chamber on the first floor of the castle.   Sigmund can be found with the Duke, probably advising him on matters of state.
The Cook

Duke Horacio’s personal cook is a strange sort of man for his job. He seems constantly underprepared and more than a little bewildered by his post. Despite this, he occasionally manages to prepare food that mere commoners have no right to eat.

  Phileas, the Lumbridge Sage

Phileas is the oldest and wisest citizen of Lumbridge, and he doesn’t mind sharing his wisdom with any who ask. So old is the Lumbridge Sage, that few remember he was once the librarian of Varrock Palace.

The Cook, obviously, can be found in the castle kitchen.   Phileas is never far from the signpost by the bridge across the Lum.
Father Aereck

Father Aereck is the local priest of Saradomin and is exceedingly proud of his church (it is over 230 years old, you know). He is also a keen organist, much to the annoyance of his neighbours as he plays late into the night.

  Bob, of Bob’s Brilliant Axes

Bob has been grinding hatchets for at least as long as anyone cares to remember, and in a town like Lumbridge his skills are always in high demand. He can be gruff at times, but if you’re short of a hatchet and have some gold to spend he’ll be right with you. Bob is also able to repair hatchets – for a fee, of course.

Father Aereck can always be found looking after his church in the south-east of Lumbridge.   Bob is always in his shop just south of Lumbridge Castle.
Roddeck

It’s easy to forget that Roddeck almost brought terrible ruin to Lumbridge by keeping a pet dragon. Whether he is mending his ways or simply being an eccentric busybody, Roddeck has become your advisor and is of great use to those who call on him.

  Xenia

Xenia travelled to Lumbridge to investigate rumours of Zamorakian cult activity. A seasoned adventurer, she seeks to impart her knowledge and experience onto a new generation of promising young heroes. She can be found in Lumbridge Graveyard. She also has a reward for the most dedicated of questing heroes.

Roddeck can be found from your advisors button, or in his house on the east side of Lumbridge.   Xenia can be found in the graveyard of Lumbridge Church.
Nastroth

Nastroth is a big fella, but not as big as his older brother, Mandrith, who resides in Edgeville. Both of them will buy any of the rarer drops you can get from revenants in the Forinthry Dungeon.

Nastroth can be found wandering about Lumbridge Castle’s courtyard.

Quests

The following quests can be started in Lumbridge:

  • The Blood Pact
  • Cook’s Assistant
  • The Lost Tribe (Members)
  • Love Story (Members)
  • Myths of the White Lands
  • Recipe for Disaster (Members)
  • The Restless Ghost
  • Rune Mysteries

The Creatures that Lurk

Giant spider (Level 2)

Giant spiders are a common creature in the lands of RuneScape and can be dangerous foes. Mercifully, the giant spiders around Lumbridge are a puny breed and should present no difficulties, even to novice adventurers.

  Goblin (Level 2)

Goblins are one of the most widely spread races of RuneScape, such that if they were ever properly organised they might threaten larger towns. It is a good thing, then, that they are a poorly organised race and prone to bickering. Goblins are, like giant spiders, quite simple opponents.

Giant spiders are most commonly found behind Lumbridge Castle.   The goblins around Lumbridge tend to mill about to the north and west of the town. There is also a significant cluster of goblins over the river to the east.
Giant rat (Level 3)

Just like giant spiders and goblins, giant rats are a common sight. They are slightly tougher than goblins and giant spiders, but this still doesn’t say much.

Giant rats can be found west of Lumbridge Castle and in the swamps to the south of town.

Miscellaneous

If you’re in a hurry for a snack, Lumbridge is possibly the best place in the world. There are a couple of good Fishing spots on the far side of the river, overstocked farms to the north, and chickens. Chickens are a great source of food as they are very simple to kill, drop feathers for Fletching and when cooked properly they’re quite tasty. On top of that, chickens lay eggs, so keep an eye out for the feathered creatures.

Cows are also useful, as they provide both beef and cowhide. They can be found north-east across the river on Farmer Groats’s land. If you take a bucket you can milk the dairy cows.

Sheep in the pen in the north of Lumbridge will provide you with wool, though you will need to get some shears first.

There are a couple of spots in and around Lumbridge worth keeping an eye on if you’re new to RuneScape:

  • Behind Bob’s Brilliant Axes is a knife spawn point.
  • In front of Fred the Farmer’s house (north of Lumbridge) is a chopping block with a bronze hatchet embedded in it.
  • The southern stairwell of Lumbridge Castle has a mind rune spawn point.
  • Next to the northern stairwell in the Castle is a bronze arrow spawn point.
  • The Castle kitchen and basement hold a selection of equipment useful for improving your Cooking skills.
  • The room next to Duke Horacio’s chamber in Lumbridge Castle has a bronze dagger.
  • On the east side of the river, Barfy Bill will teach members to make canoes to travel the River Lum.
  • Do you enjoy knowing a few random statistics? There are two signs in Lumbridge – one outside the Castle gates and another at the entrance to the cow field – with some amusing numbers to entertain you.
  • New adventurers looking to get stuck into an exciting combat quest should speak to Xenia in the graveyard.
  • Those adventurers who have completed at least one subquest from the Recipe for Disaster quest will find the Culinaromancer’s Chest in the Castle basement.
  • If you haven’t helped him already, Fred the Farmer could do with a helping hand to shear some of his sheep.
  • There is a plaque just outside of Lumbridge Castle’s main gate to commemorate the winners of the prestigious Jagex Clan Cup. Identical plaques also reside at Clan Wars (behind the clan portal) and in Edgeville (behind the Soul Wars portal).

Controls – Banks

Posted by runescape

As your wealth in RuneScape increases, you will soon run out of space in your inventory to carry it all around with you. It is quite risky to have all of your items on you because, when you die, you will drop the majority of them.

To prevent such a devastating loss, your character has been provided with a bank account. You can place any item in your bank account and retrieve it at any time from any bank.

The Bank of RuneScape has branches all over the world. Branches of this bank can be found in Varrock, Falador, Edgeville, Draynor Village, and many other populated areas.

Bank right-click menu

When you arrive at a bank, simply click on the bank booth to perform the default action, Use Bank booth. By doing this, you will start a conversation with one of the bankers. Talking to a banker is very important as this allows you to set your bank account PIN.

Right-clicking on the booth will display the following options – Use Bank booth, Use-quickly Bank booth, Collect and Examine Bank booth. These options are always displayed for a player using a single button mouse.

By selecting Use Bank booth, you will start a conversation with a banker. To bypass the conversation screens and access your account immediately, select the Use-quickly Bank booth option.

Collection box interface

To check up on any offers you have made at the Grand Exchange, select Collect. This will bring up a small window to inform you whether any trades have been completed. You can collect any cash or items you have won by clicking on the trade. You can also use the Collect right-click option to pick up any items you previously lent to other players.

Once you have decided to use the bank, your bank account will be displayed. Here you will see all of the items that you have gathered and saved.

Storage space in bank accounts are different for members and non-members. Members have hundreds of spaces in their bank, while non-members have 68 (78 if an email address has been registered on the account).

Bank account interface

If you have multiple items of the same type in the bank, a number will appear next to it to indicate how many you have. The bankers aren’t fussy and will safely store anything from runes to big piles of coal!

Some items will not stack in your bank, as the bankers find them too confusing. These items are usually used to hold other items, like the satchels from Tower of Life. Other items are simply unbankable, but these are rare on RuneScape.

To deposit or withdraw an item, simply click on it. Players with multiple button mice will withdraw or deposit a single piece of that item. Players using a single button mouse will get a menu of options.

To deposit more than one of an item at a time, players using a multiple button mouse should right-click on the item to deposit or withdraw, and select the number you wish to deposit or withdraw from the list. Alternatively, you can use the three icons in the bottom-right to deposit everything from your inventory, your equipped inventory or your Summoning familiar’s inventory. The banks are free to use, so making use of them to safely store your extra items is a very good idea!

If your account is filling up with items, you’ll find it useful to know that there is a function that allows you to search your bank account for specific items. Simply click the ‘Search’ button and type the name, or part of the name, of the item you are looking for; this will filter out all of the other items visible in your bank interface, so you can easily locate an item buried deep in your overflowing bank account. You can turn off the search feature at any time by clicking the ‘Search’ button again or clicking outside of the Search window.

Bank Tabs

A well-organised bank account

To help organise your bank account, you can arrange specific items into ‘tabs’. At the top of the interface, you will see two main tabs; the first of these is the ‘All’ tab, and is marked with the ‘infinity’ symbol (which looks like a sideways 8). This tab shows every item in your bank account.

To set up a tab, simply drag an item onto the tab marked with a ‘+’. This will create a new tab that will only show a set of items that you specify and will be marked with the item you first drag onto it. Dragging more items onto the tab will place them into that section of your bank account. Each of these sections will be marked in your main account window, or you can click on the tab to view only those items.

For instance, if you want to keep your melee combat gear in an easy-to-find location, you might like to keep all of it in a specific tab. You will still be able to find it in your main account (by clicking the ‘All’ tab), but you can choose specific items to be displayed to make accessing them much quicker.

You may also drag items from a Search into a tab or to create a new one. Up to 8 tabs can be created at any one time. For an at-a-glance view of how many spaces remain in your bank, look at the counter at the bottom of your bank screen (right of the ‘note’ toggle button).

To remove a bank tab, right-click on it and select ‘Collapse tab’. A tab will also be removed if you clear it of items.

Rearranging Items

There are two ways for you to rearrange your bank account: Swap and Insert. You can select which by clicking the ‘Swap/Insert’ button, at the bottom of the bank interface. If you have selected the ‘Swap‘ option, you can drag and drop items in your bank on top of other items, and the two items will swap positions in your bank.

If you have selected the ‘Insert‘ option, dragging an item on top of an existing item will move other items around to accommodate it.

Free and Member Bank Space

These numbers represent your non-member and member bank space. The left-hand numbers, separated by a diagonal line, represent your non-member bank space. In this instance, the player has filled all of their non-member bank space (68 items in 68 bank spaces).

The right-hand numbers, separated by another diagonal line, represent the member bank space and how much of it you have filled. In this instance, the player has only used 45 of their available 438 member bank slots.

There are a few things worth remembering when glancing at these numbers.

  • Members can freely use the full 506 bank slots (68 non-member + 438 member).
  • Non-members with member items (from when they used to be a member, for example) are able to store their member items freely in their member bank space, up to a limit of 438. They are also able to store free items in their free bank space up to a limit of 68.
  • Players with more than 438 member items will find that their items overflow into their non-member bank slots. Players with more than 68 non-member items will find that their items overflow into their member bank slots. You may view your overflow by hovering your cursor over the numbers at the bottom of your bank interface. For example, if someone had 70 non-member items and 30 member items then their numbers would read 68/68 – 32/438. By hovering over these numbers, the player would be able to see there an overflow of 2 non-member items into their member bank space.

Finally, everyone who has their email address registered with us, be they free-player or member, will receive an additional ten ‘free’ bank spaces, making for a maximum possible total of 78 bank spaces for free-players or 516 bank spaces for members. Registering your email address is quick and easy to do. For more information about email registration, click here; to go directly to email registration, click here.

Using Notes

Any items which don’t normally stack in your inventory and that are tradable (such as ore and food) can be withdrawn in the form of a note. If an item cannot be traded, you will not be able to withdraw it as a note. This allows large trades without taking up lots of inventory slots. To choose to withdraw the items as a note, you can toggle the ‘Note/Item’ button at the bottom of the interface.

Items stored in note form cannot be wielded or equipped, and cannot be used in most skills. They can be sold as notes to any shop that would buy the un-noted item, and they can also have the low and high alchemy spells cast upon them.

Beasts of Burden

If you have a beast of burden familiar (from the Summoning skill), you can move its entire inventory into your bank account by clicking the ‘wolf head’ icon at the bottom-right of the bank interface.

Bank PINs

Bank PIN settings interface

There is a need to keep our riches safe and sound, therefore the Bank of RuneScape has given each bank account the option of a PIN system.

You will have to create one for yourself, preferably the first time you access your bank account.

To get to this screen, simply talk to the banker and select ‘Check your PIN setting‘. This bank PIN setting will provide you with information on the status of your pin.

controls-options

Posted by runescape

At the bottom of the control panel, on the far right-hand side, are three buttons. The first one is the game options button, the second is the emote button and the last one is the music player button.

Game Options

Main game options interface

The games option button gives you access to options that influence the way the game behaves.

The first of the options controls the display options. If you are having problems seeing what is going on in the game windows, or want to increase or decrease the details visible to you, you can open this interface to adjust your settings. Click here to find out more about display options.

The second button controls the music and sound effects. You can either turn these off or set different levels for the various forms of sound that you can hear in RuneScape.

The buttons below these will be highlighted red if they are turned on.

With the profanity filter turned on, any potentially offensive words that other players use will not be shown in your chat window (they will be replaced by ****s). Note that you should only report other players if they are actually being offensive to you or someone else, not just because there are ****s in their chat – context is everything. It is, however, considered worse if another player is purposefully misspelling words in order to circumvent the profanity filter, and such players should be reported for breaching the relevant rule from the ‘Respect’ category.

With the profanity filter turned off, you will see exactly what other players type in their chat, warts and all. Note that, as you have made a concious choice to turn off your profanity filter, you should not report other players simply for using the odd bit of bad language. You can and should still report other players who are being discriminatory, bullying, threatening, lewd, salacious, soliciting, etc, regardless of whether or not they are using bad language! It may be worth familiarising yourself with our rules on innapropriate language and behaviour, but, basically, so long as you are responsible and respectful to other players, you have nothing to worry about.

We will still censor any URLs that we have not deemed as safe, regardless of whether or not your profanity filter is on or off. Also note that any chat containing your own password will not be displayed to other players at all. There is never any reason for you to be typing your account password in the chat window.

The Chat Effects option allows you to turn chat effects on and off. Chat effects are ways of making your chat text appear coloured or animated. This is popular with players who want to attract a little extra attention to what they are saying.

The default colour for chat text is yellow, but there are other colours available to use with your chat text. These colours are red, green, white, cyan and purple.

The table below shows all the available effects that can be used to alter how the text is displayed.

Effect Function
flash1 Make the text change colour between red and yellow
flash2 Make the text change colour between cyan and blue
flash3 Make the text change colour between dark green and light green
scroll Makes the text move across the character’s head, from right to left
shake Make the text vibrate quickly up and down
wave Make the text move up and down slowly
wave2 Make the text move up, down, inwards and outwards slowly
slide Make the text drop down from above the character’s head
glow1 Makes the text gradually change colour from red through to orange, yellow, green and cyan
glow2 Makes the text gradually change colour from red through pink, magenta, blue and then back to red
glow3 Makes the text gradually change colour from white to green and white to cyan

These commands are used in the following format – <colour>:<effect>:<text>

For example, to make the line of text, “Selling cut ruby!”, display in red, we would use – red:Selling cut ruby!.
To have the text scroll and be displayed in cyan, we would use – cyan:scroll:Selling cut ruby!

The Chat Setup button is to turn split private chat on or off. If you have split private chat set to ‘Off’, then all private messages you receive will happen in the main game text window. If you turn split private chatOn‘, all private messages you receive will appear on top of the chat window. This makes it easier to spot when there is a lot of public chat going on. You are also able to choose what colour your private chat (and Clan Chat) will display in.

The Accept Aid option allows you to specify if you would like to be able to receive some help from friends in the form of teleportation. This can be useful at various times, especially in times of danger. If you turn Accept aid ‘On‘, then other players will be able to use their teleportation spells on you. If someone tries to teleport you, an interface will pop up, you will then need to accept this aid before you can be teleported.

If it is set to ‘Off’, then you will not receive this interface and therefore will not be able to be teleported by others.

The Mouse Buttons option allows you to toggle between using two mouse buttons or just using one to control the game. In ‘single button’ mode, menus will always appear when you click on objects with more than one option or if you click several objects at once. Some people find this easier, and it’s also handy if your mouse only has one button!

The House button will open your house options, which you can only use if you have purchased a house from the Real Estate Agent. For further information about houses, please see the Construction section of the Game Guide.

Emotes

[image] The emotes options button allows you to control your character’s behaviour.

This interface contains the Emote Animation buttons. These are a number of pre-defined actions your character can perform. Use these if you want to add a little movement to your chat!

Emotes that are available to the player are rendered in full colour, while those that are currently locked are displayed as shadows of figures. Players can unlock these emotes by completing quests, special holiday events and random events. You might like to start opening new emotes by exploring the Stronghold of Security.

Music Controls

Music interface

The music options button allows you to access the music interface. A list of all the music tracks available in RuneScape is displayed in this interface.

Music tracks that the player can access are displayed in green. For example, in the image, the track “Adventure” is available for the player to listen to. Music tracks that are unavailable are displayed in red.

You can click in the list of music tracks to select a song to play. Green tracks are songs that have been unlocked and can be played by left-clicking on them. Red tracks have not been unlocked yet, and can be unlocked by completing the related quests or finding the relevant area. To find out how to unlock a music track, right-click it and select ‘Unlock hint’. You can also search through all tracks by clicking on the button with the magnifying glass icon, then typing in a word from the track you are searching for. As you type, your search results will update in the music interface.

Songs that are appropriate to your location will start when you enter a certain area.

Those adventurers who especially enjoy exploring may find that they manage to unlock 500 music tracks. When they reach this, they will also unlock a new emote – ‘Air guitar’.

Shield of Arrav

Posted by runescapecoin

Start: By speaking to Reldo, the librarian of Varrock Castle or Charlie the Tramp, located next to the Varrock Weapon Store.
Skills: Ability to fight a level 2 or 23, depending on your selected gang.
Quests: None!
What you Need: A friend who hasn’t started the quest, 20gp.

Scroll down to the end of the guide to find a ‘Fast Quest Walkthrough’.

——————————————————————————–

Getting Started

Before starting this quest, you are going to need a friend to help you who has not started this quest yet. Speak to Reldo, located in the Varrock Castle library, north from the entrance of the castle. Ask him for a quest. After a short conversation, he mentions about a book in the nearby shelves that may tell you about a quest. This book can be seen by a blue and white shield in the top shelf, facing away from the desk. After you have read this book, talk to Reldo and he tells you to talk to Baraek, who located outside of Varrock Castle.

Now that both of you have started the quest, decide on the gang that each of you will join. Apparently the Shield was broken in half, and each gang has 1 piece. You’ll each have to join a different gang to get both halves.

Phoenix Gang

Baraek can be found outside Varrock Castle in the marketplace, near the fur stall. Ask him about the gang, but before he gives out the location, he wants 20gp. After he tells you about the location of the gang, head along the south wall, walking east until you see a small building with a dungeon symbol. Climb down the ladder and talk to Straven.

Tell him that you know who they are, and that you would like to offer your services. He wants you to get an Intelligence Report from Johnny the Beard, located inside the Blue Moon Inn. After killing him, you should receive an ‘Intel report’. Bring that back to Straven and then he will allow you to be in the Phoenix Gang. He will give you a key in return, in which you have access to both the Phoenix hideout and a weapon storage place. Enter the hideout and head southwest until you see a chest. Open and search it and you will receive a left-half shield.

As soon as you get the left-half shield, climb the ladder and walk over to the building east of the hideout. Open the door and climb the ladder to approach a weapon storage building. Inside there is a Weaponmaster who is Level 23 and guards the Phoenix Crossbows. Kill the Weaponmaster and take two Phoenix crossbows on the floor. Give these to your friend in the Black Arm Gang.

Note: Magic attacks do not work on the Weaponmaster.

Black Arm Gang

After you have spoken to Reldo, talk to Charlie the Tramp and ask about the alley behind him. He says that the Black Arm Gang can be found there, and ask if they would let you join. Talk to Katrine, who is inside the building and tell her that you’ve heard that they are the Black Arm Gang. Ask her if you can become part of the gang, and asks you to steal two Phoenix Crossbows. Make sure your friend has traded you two Phoenix Crossbows.

Give Katrine the crossbows and she makes you part of the gang. Go upstairs and search the cupboard on the east wall for a right-half shield.

Final Steps

Once each of you have half a shield make your way to the Museum, north from Varrock East Bank. Talk to the curator. You will receive either two left half certificates, or two right half certificates. Which certificate you get depends on which gang you’re in. Find your partner, and trade them exchanging one of the certificates, so that you both have a left half, and a right half certificate. Use one half with the other to get a full Certificate, and then talk to King Roald in Varrock Castle to redeem your reward.

Congratulations! Quest Completed.

We have added duelling for members to Runescape 2!

Duelling takes place in the new Duel Arena northeast of Al Kharid. There are six duel arenas which are surrounded by walkways, from which you can challenge other players and watch the duels.

When you challenge someone to a duel, you will be given a duelling options screen so you can determine between yourselves the stake for the duel and the type of duel that you wish to have.

There are lots of new options for you to try out, most should be self-evident.

  • No Forfeit means that you can’t chicken out and have to fight to the death; you can normally forfeit (and automatically lose) a duel by leaving through a trap door in an arena.
  • No Movement turns off any movement; by default you can move anywhere within your arena while duelling.
  • Obstacles gives you a choice between the types of arena you would like - either a plain arena or an arena with obstacles in it that may help Rangers and Mages. The other options are: No Weapons, No Armour, No Ranged, No Melee, No Magic, No Potions, No Food, No Prayer.Once you have chosen your options you will be taken to an appropriate arena. Your opponent will be indicated by a yellow arrow over their head.

When you are watching a match you can lean on a wall by clicking on it. Your camera will move to a nice angle so you can watch the action. As soon as you walk somewhere it will turn off again.
Fadli, who is at the entrance to the Duel Arena, can look after your stuff whilst you are duelling. After a duel has finished both the winner and the loser will respawn at the hospital at the side of the arenas where the nice nurses will make sure you are at full health for your next duel.

Please be aware: We have opened a specific section of our forum purely for issues relating to the duelling arena, please do not contact Customer Support regarding it as they will be unable to help.

    Changes to pickpocketing

Following feedback from beta testers we have now made some adjustments to pickpocketing.
Now when you are caught thieving the npc gives a small set amount of damage and then stops fighting you. You are left stunned for a few seconds during which time you can’t move or do more pickpocketing.
After that you can continue to pickpocket the npc as before.

    Great Brain Robbery

    Posted by runescape

Better dig out some protective headgear: the zombie pirates are back, and hungrier than ever for grey matter! Robbing innocent monks of their piece(s) of mind, crashing ships into their harmonious island monastery and generally raining on their pious parade - these scurvy dogs have set up a literal ‘chop shop’ in the once hallowed halls. Are there no depths to which they will not stoop? If you want to help out the cranially-challenged clergy and claim the reward for shifting the sort of headaches that even a willow bark infusion cannot remove, then speak to Brother Tranquility on Mos le’Harmless for details. New rewards - from craftable felines to the most nautical weapon in the game - await those players with the skill and know-how to foil the Great Brain Robbery!

In the basement of the Tower of Life, players were finding they could steal other people’s frogeels from combat. This has now been fixed.

It would, of course, be improper to leave out the other important updates for this week. As if the Hunter skill weren’t impressive enough! That’s right, the imps have had their impending makeover early, as a special treat for the impudent little blighters. Little do they know that weeks of being imprisoned in magical boxes lie ahead of them.

    Fairy rings

Keen-eyed adventurers may find two new fairy rings that can transport them to two of the more remote Hunter training areas. The codes to access these rings will be published in our Knowledge Base in a few days - we’re not doing all the work for you!

    A message from Juna

Juna, the ancient snake who guards the Tears of Guthix, wishes it to be known that Guthix, in his wisdom, will not award Hunter XP to adventurers who drink his tears so soon after this skill is released. Anyone who would normally expect to gain Hunter XP as their reward will instead receive the bonus in their second-lowest stat.

When Guthix removes this restriction in early December, it will be announced in a news post.

    In other news…

Certain random events that give costumes as rewards will no longer hand out items that players already have stored in their houses’ costume rooms.

The attack animations of metallic dragons have been adjusted to fix the glitch that made their chests stretch incorrectly when they attempted to breathe fire.

    Pirate’s Treasure

    Posted by runescapecoin

Start: Talk to Redbeard Frank, located in Port Sarim, about treasure.
Skills: The ability to kill a level 4 Gardener.
    Quests: None!
What You Need: At least 90gp, a bottle of Karamja Rum, White Apron, Chest Key, and a Spade.

Scroll down to the end of the guide to find a ‘Fast Quest Walkthrough’.

    ——————————————————————————–

    Getting Started

First, talk to Redbeard Frank about any treasure he may know about. Usually he can be found near the Rusty Anchor Bar in Port Sarim, and he says that he will tell you about treasure if you get him some Karamja Rum. So, travel along the walkway and talk to either of the 3 sailors near the boat. When they ask if you want to take a trip to Karamja for 30gp, say yes.

    Getting the Rum

Once on Karamja, follow the dirt road until you reach the bar owned by Zambo. Speak with him and buy some Karamja Rum for 30gp. Now, you need to smuggle the Rum off of the island because the Customs Officer will not allow you to bring it to the mainland.

Head back down the road and talk to Luthas, the banana plantation owner about a job. He says that he will pay you 30gp for each crate of bananas you fill up. Pick about 10 bananas from the trees behind his house, and then walk up to the crate on the other side of the building. Now use the Karamja Rum with the crate to store it, and then pack the crate with bananas.

Talk to Luthas again to collect 30gp, and then leave the island by speaking to the Customs Officer and letting her check you for anything you shouldn’t have with you. Once you’re off of the island, go to Wydin’s Grocery Store and try to get into the back room. Ask him for a job, and he says that you need a White Apron to work for him. You can find one hanging up on a hook behind the counter of the Fishing Shop (next door to the Grocery Store). Go into the back room and search the crate in the middle of the floor for the Rum.

    The Pirate’s Treasure

Bring the Rum back to Redbeard Frank, who gives you a Chest Key. He says that there’s a chest upstairs in the Blue Moon Inn, so head to Varrock. Upstairs in the pub is a chest, and after unlocking it with the key you should find a Pirate Message that reads “Visit the city of the White Knights, in the park Saradomin points to the X which marks the spot.” It looks like we’re going to Falador.

You’re going to need a Spade to dig up the buried treasure, and you can find one in the small house just east of the Furnace in Falador. In the garden you will see a statue of Saradomin pointing west. Right in front of him is a flower bed that crisscrosses like an X, so walk towards the center of it, right-click on the ground and select the “dig” option. Before you can dig the treasure up however, you’ll be attacked by a level 4 Gardener. After killing him, dig the treasure up to complete the quest!

    Rewards

Treasure: A Cut Emerald, Gold Ring and 450gp.
    2 Quest Points
