Runescape Clans

Posted by amber

Runescape Clans Many MMORPGs have clans within them, Runescape is one of these and is home to many hundreds of clans. A clan is a group of players who have joined together to form a group or team. People form clans for many reasons, whether it be to group up on someone in the wilderness or complete quests together. Clan Specifications Many clans in Runescape will require you to have a certain combat level, have certain skills, or even have a certain item if the clan is specifically for those wearing the same item. The item could be for example; full rune and a green halloween mask or full green dragonhide and a magic shortbow. The options are almost endless! Top 5 Runescape Clan Websites The top 5 Runescape Clan websites can be found below. This list is taken from ‘The Runescape Clan List – Number 1# Clan List!’ and may differ from other websites. The Hatred Fearless The Golden Gods Crimson Templar The United Freedom Fighters Finding a Runescape Clan Finding a clan isn’t that hard. There are many places you can go to find a clan to join. Whether it be the Official Runescape Website or by searching for one on a search engine such as Google or Yahoo. You will most probably have to apply to join the clan and then your application will be accepted or declined. Do not worry if you are declined from one, there are plenty of Runescape clans out there which are willing to hire anybody willing to join them and will be grateful for your participation in their clan events. Runescape Clan Wars and Pking Clans The majority of Runescape clans are Pking Clans, short for Player Killing Clans. These clans organise trips for their members to go out into the wilderness to team up on other people with the hope of winning the killed persons items. If you decide to join a Pking then watch out as even someone you are really good friends can ‘accidentally’ click you. Make sure you also use a LootShare world so you do not miss out on the prize of kills. There are also fights between clans in order to see who is the best. These are commonly known as Runescape clan wars and are the most deadly battles in the Wilderness

Runescape is a very popular online game, and as a result, you may find yourself competing with others both in your battling areas and while you gather raw materials like logs and ores.

Simple strategies to lessen the frustration you’ll feel from this competition are as follows:

Become a Member if at all possible - the accessable part of the world is larger and thus there are places to gather your raw materials and build your skills.
Find a bank far away from the main cities and gather your materials from that location instead. Many players are too lazy to leave the main cities, so the competition is inherently reduced.
Find a time of the day when there are reliably less people playing, and spend that time gathering materials that are the most frustrating with other players around: mining, log gathering and fishing for example.
Invest the time in improving your ranging ability (bow and arrow use), because when you’re fighting in competitive areas, quick-clicking rangers have an advantage, and in some areas a ranger can stand out of the reach of a large monster, yet still attack and kill that monster.
Make your own arrows - this goes with the above point - if you try to buy enough arrows to improve your ranging ability, you’ll spend all of your money and still not have enough arrows. It’s better to advance your mining, smelting and fletching skills so you can create and use your own arrows. Plus, hey, if you have an extra 1000 laying around after all that work, you can sell it for a profit to others who are too lazy to create their own!
Explore the wilderness when the game server isn’t full - there are a lot of great skilling places, like mines and herblore-component things, in the Wilderness. But of course, there are inherent dangers in the Wilderness - other players looking to kill you for sport or for your equipment. Explore when the game server is quiet and you’ll be a lot less stressed.
Save every rune you come across - then build your mage skills periodically. Building your mage skills is rewarded by the teleport skills you will get at mid-to-high levels, which make transportation around the world a LOT EASIER, and provides for quick-escape within certain parts of the Wilderness in case you find yourself under attack.
Sell law runes 1, 2 or 5 at a time when players are specifically desperate for the runes - don’t sell large quantities at any one time as you won’t get a good rate for them, and law runes are valuable (being a key part of the mage teleports above). If you sell 1, 2 or 5 at a time, you can ask 1000 coins for each and players will pay. Watch for their advertisements in the bank.

Before we begin, let’s take a moment to learn the basics of the Grand Exchange. When you open the Exchange window, you will see six boxes with 2 boxes in each. One box is for buying, and the other for selling. You can pick the quantity and the price for either buying or selling. Usually when selling, the lowest price possible will be the fastest sell.

Let me show you an example. As you can see from the screenshot below, I have three barbed tail harpoons. They are set at the max price (27 gp) and the total gold is 81 gp. I could change the quantity and/or the price if I wanted to. However, I think that is fair, so I will press “Confirm Offer” and then I will wait for it to finish. They will hold your items or money until it’s completed. You can always go to any bank and press “collect” to receive the money or items you got from the exchange.

Now, that you have a basic grasp of the way it works, lets move on to money-making.

Obviously the normal merchanting is always a great way to make money. However, who really wants to sit in a bank for an hour typing “Selling 1k willows!!”? That’s what’s great about the Exchange. Just take your items and put them in your sell box. Name the price and the quantity will automatically be the number you have. Most of the time it will sell within a minute of you putting it up. But of course, it’s not always going to work like that. As in the screenshot below, I’m waiting for them to sell.

They will not sell as fast because they are not a popular item and they are at the max price.
If I had say, 100 Swordfish, and I put them at the minimum price, they would sell very fast.
Even if they were at the maximum price, they would sell quite fast. Remember, the more popular the item is, the faster it sells.

Another good idea is to buy low and sell high. Say I buy eight swordfish at 375gp each. Then I resell them for 415gp each. I just made 320gp. Sure, it’s not a lot, but say I buy 1k Swordfish for 375k and then I resold for 415kGP. See the difference? Of course making money like this could take quite awhile. Just stay patient and it will pay off.

Using the Runescape Grand Exchange is a wonderful money making opportunity. You can have that Dragon Longsword you have been dreaming of in a matter of minutes.

Happy Selling!

Talk to Unferth in Burthrope and you will find out his cat named Bob has gone missing. Agree to help him find him and Unferth will ask you to talk to his friend Hild who lives nearby him who can also help look for Bob. Make sure you have your cat/kitten and amulet of catspeak on at all times.

Head a bit north of Unferth’s house and you will find Hild’s house. Talk to her and she will tell you that theres a chance you can find Bob if your amulet of catspeak gets enchanted and to do it you will need to give her 5 death runes. The amulet is simple to use, just keep turning the arrows clockwise or anti-clockwise until the whole thing flashes then go to the direction where the arrow is pointing. Bob can be anywhere in RuneScape so just keep following that and check up every so often. For me, Bob was in a building in Draynor.

Talk to Bob when you find him and he will tell you about his love for a cat at Menaphos and his long lost family. And after that conversation your cat/kitten will ask you to go ask Gertrude about Bob’s history.

Go to Gertrudes house west of Varrock and talk to her.At the end of the conversation you will be told by Gertrude to ask Reldo about Robert the Strong. Now head to the varrock castle and talk to Reldo, he will tell you about a legend of a man named Robert the Strong who your cat/kitten believes is either Bob or a person who knew Bob. After the story go back to Bob.

Talk to Bob back in Burthorpe and he will tell you that he has no memory of anything to do with Robert the Strong. Then your cat/kitten suggests that you talk to the Sphinx in Sophanem who might help out Bob.

Head all the way to Sophanem and talk to the Sphinx and ask her for help on how to prove Bob was Robert the Strong, you will enter a 5 min 40 sec cutscene or you can always skip it and read a summary, either way at the end Bob will tell you to look after Unferth and gives you a list of chores you have to do.

Equa Leaves (members only)

  1. Go to the Tree Gnome Stronghold and buy a large number of equa leaves for 2gp each
  2. Go to the grand exchange and sell for about 50 each
  • Note: this way might not always work but it often does because people are too lazy to go to the Tree Gnome Stronghold just to get equa leaves

So if you buy 500 equa leaves for 2 gp each and sill in G.E for about 50 each thats 23k profit!

Woodcutting

  1. Get the following:
    • 60+ in Woodcutting (that is the level you need to cut yews)
    • Rune Axe. They are sold at the grand exchange for about 9k. This is needed to cut at a good pace.
  2. Go to Edgeville and cut and bank.
  3. Sell logs at the grand exchange when you have about 200 of them. They go for about 415 gp a log.
(200 yew logs are about 83,00gp) or cut magic logs at level 75+ for about 1k each

Varrock Introduction

Posted by runescapecoin

Varrock is one of the most ancient cities in RuneScape, but before the time of man there were cities much older (though there is now little evidence of where they stood). The location is ideal for a city: it sits astride major trading routes, with all the resources of Misthalin at its disposal. It is quite natural that Varrock would be considered among the most powerful and important cities in the world.

In the past, Misthalin has pushed back the dark menace from Morytania as well as ensuring that the inhabitants of the Wilderness remain in the desolate north. If either were to spill over the borders and into Misthalin, Varrock would be the first line of defence, and the single hope the world might have to stop them.

The city is not without its own problems, though, and the divide between the wealthy and the poor is like a great scar across the city. The southern half is full of thieves and the poverty-stricken, while the north, with the palace and fine shops, is populated by those who do not wish to see the dirtier parts of the city.

Location

A map of Varrock

Varrock lies immediately north of Lumbridge, where adventurers learn their trade. It also lies north-east of Draynor Village and Draynor Manor and east of Falador.

North of the city is the Wilderness, a lawless land of murderers, rogues and monsters.

Being an important city, there are a variety of ways to arrive at Varrock, whether on foot, teleporting, or beneath the ground.

Points of Interest

Varrock’s points of interest
Varrock has possibly everything you could want from a city: the shops are well-stocked; members will find that there is the Sawmill Operator just to the north-east of the city; there are mines and Farming patches; there is a good handful of quests to be done.

Be sure to admire the palace while you’re there; it’s a massive structure with a number of guards and soldiers constantly training or on duty. You’ll also note that the entire city looks prepared for an invasion - such is the price of sitting so close to the Wilderness and Morytania. Walking about near Varrock’s eastern bank is a Town Crier, who is more than happy to explain the Rules of Conduct and the role of Player Moderators.

Almost certainly the grandest structure after the palace is the Grand Exchange, in the north-west of the city. There, traders from around RuneScape come to buy and sell, each hoping to find bargains and sell them for a tidy profit.

Provided you have completed Rune Mysteries, you can access the rune essence mine by having a quick chat with Aubury, who can be found in his rune shop in the south-east of the city. As there are only a very small number of people who can teleport you there, it’s good to make sure you know where he lives.

South of the city is the Champions’ Guild, which are constantly keeping an eye out for talented adventurers. They also have a couple of shops built into the building upstairs.

Aside from this, the guards and locals might prove intriguing to those interested in advancing their skills, so it’s a good thing that the city is large enough to accommodate a good number.

Personalities

King Roald

As the ruler of Misthalin, King Roald has his work cut out for him. He is constantly worried about this and that, and the dangers of Morytania forever weigh on his mind. He is generally a wise ruler, but has taken to listening to his advisors a bit too much in recent times.

Queen Ellamaria

Queen Ellamaria likes everyone to think that she comes from one of Misthalin’s noble houses, so she is slightly less than pleasant to those she deems below her station (this means pretty much every adventurer that bothers her). She does love a nice garden, though, and hopes that King Roald will enjoy it with her.

King Roald can be found in the throne room of Varrock Palace. Members will find Queen Ellamaria in Varrock Palace’s garden.

Reldo

Reldo is the Varrock Librarian. He has read almost every book in the library and probably knows more about RuneScape’s history than anyone else - even the Wise Old Man. He’s also eager to help out wandering adventurers, so if you think he could help out at all he’s worth talking to.

Dimintheis

The Varrock nobility works to a set of rules defined centuries ago. Sadly, some nobles - like Dimintheis - have fallen foul of these rules and been stripped of their land and property. He is quite a humble noble, and not adverse to accepting help from well-meaning adventurers, whatever their station in society.

Reldo can be found in the library inside Varrock Palace. Members will find Dimintheis in an extremely humble abode in the south-east of the city.

Romeo

Romeo is a romantic chap, constantly falling in and out of love with various ladies. He is always passionately devoted to them, but he’s also quite hopeless when it comes to solving his own problems. His beloved’s family are not particularly fond of him, but these star-cross’d lovers must be reunited.

Juliet

Juliet is the current object of Romeo’s affections, and believes she is deeply in love with Romeo. Her father, unfortunately, cannot stand Romeo (maybe it’s his excessively romantic notions), and family rivalries get in the way of their love. Phillipa, Juliet’s cousin, is not so pretty, but a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Romeo can be found frantically seeking help in Varrock’s market. Juliet can be found in her family’s house just west of the city.

Father Lawrence

Father Lawrence is the city’s priest of Saradomin, and likes nothing better than delivering a pious sermon to his attentive congregation. He is a close acquaintance of Romeo, and knows well the problems between Romeo’s and Juliet’s families. He is slightly obsessed with plans involving death, but they are no doubt useful in his line of work.

Gertrude

Gertrude is a good mother and an outstanding cat breeder. If you ever desire to one day raise a cat of your own, Gertrude is the woman to talk to. Her children, sadly, are rather more mercenary than this good woman.

Father Lawrence can be found preaching in the church east of Varrock Palace. Members can find Gertrude at her house west of the city.

Gypsy Aris

Like all good fortune-tellers and seers, Gypsy Aris is excellent at making your destiny seem clear. She’s as old as anything else in RuneScape, so I suppose that means she probably knows what she’s doing. Her only real flaw is that she won’t let you forget just how young you are compared to her (although her dress sense could do with some tweaking, too).

Sir Prysin

Sir Prysin is, as he will no doubt tell you, a mighty knight of the realm. His exploits must be famous, and his might must be incredible - how else could he have managed to earn a room within the palace itself?

Gypsy Aris can be found in her tent in the Varrock market. Sir Prysin can be found around the bottom of the south-west tower of Varrock Palace.

Captain Rovin

Captain Rovin is the head of the palace guards, so the King’s safety falls squarely on his mighty shoulders. This is why he is so suspicious and intolerant of anyone that isn’t a guard.

Captain Rovin can be found in the north-west tower of Varrock Palace.

Quests

The following quests can be started in Varrock:

In and Around Varrock

Goblin (Level 5)

Goblins are common creatures in RuneScape, and a bickering lot they are, too. If they could ever organise themselves properly and stop fighting each other, it is possible that they could threaten large towns, rather than just very young adventurers.

Giant rat (Level 6)

Giant rats are larger and nastier versions of the small rodents that cats enjoy preying upon. Their coarse fur is poor armour, and the yellow teeth that they attack with are not nearly as dangerous as they look. Giant rats should prove no difficulty to any but the least experienced adventurers.

Goblins can be found west of the city. Giants rats can be found lurking in the south-east of the city.

Mugger (Level 6)

If a thief lacks the required dexterity to pick pockets and locks, or is simply too violent as a person, they will more than likely become a mugger. These callous men try to beat the gold out of their victims, but they are no more dangerous than giant rats.

Dark wizard (Level 7/20)

The stone circle south of the city is widely known to be a place of great evil, where Zamorak’s realm comes close to RuneScape. It is no surprise, then, that these black-robed wizards choose to spend much of their time preparing for demons and darkness to rise over the city. They are Magic users, so Ranged attacks work well against them.

Muggers can be found in the southern, disreputable parts of the city. Dark wizards can be found in the stone circle south of Varrock.

Thief (Level 16)

Far more skilled than muggers, and better equipped courtesy of the two gangs in Varrock, the thieves are a cunning bunch that seem to rule the southern half of the city. They are not particularly dangerous, but those new to the city should probably try their weapon arm against easier foes.

Bear (Level 19)

Though bears are obviously a rare sight within the city limits, there are a few in the woods outside Varrock. They are large beasts with paws the size of a man’s head, and tipped with razor-sharp claws. They should prove no difficulty to an adventurer with some experience.

Thieves can be found in the southern part of Varrock. Bears can be found north-west of the city.

Guard (Level 21)

Varrock has many guards, who typically keep watch over the gates, walls and palace. Combined with the entrenched defences, the city has the look of being permanently ready for war. This is as it should be, though, for if Varrock were ever caught unready, the whole of Misthalin would be open.

Warrior woman (Level 24)

Varrock does not rely solely on its guards, and within the palace may be found a small number of warrior women. They are more highly trained than the guards and feature better weapons and armour, which is probably why they are placed so close to King Roald.

Guards can be found throughout Varrock. Warrior women can be found in Varrock Palace.

Black Knight (Level 33)

The most sinister of knights, the Black Knights are not normally found so far from their castle or their underground headquarters. Despite this, there is a small number of them within Varrock’s limits. No one knows what they are doing there, but no doubt some evil is afoot.

Black knights can be found north of Varrock and in the Jolly Boar Inn.

Miscellaneous

  • There are dozens of items within Varrock - too many to list - so it’s worth simply looking around to see what you can find.
  • The Lumbermill, north-east of Varrock, and the real estate agent east of the palace are absolute essentials for members intending to build their own house.
  • Members who wish to train up their cat can head to the rat pit in the far south-east of the city.
  • If you have lost the quest reward from The Family Crest, return to Dimintheis and he will return it to you.
  • Equally, if you lose Silverlight after Sir Prysin gives it to you in Demon Slayer, return to him to get it back.
  • There are three altars in the city where you can pray to replenish your Prayer points.
  • Varrock Palace has a small display within its walls that, when read, will tell you precisely how many guards have had their pay stolen recently.
