I’d like to introduce myself to you all. My name is Mark Gerhard and I am the new CEO of Jagex, the makers of RuneScape. I have been fortunate enough to have worked at Jagex for some time now and consider us to be first and foremost a games developer. We’re driven by teams that not only care passionately about games but also actively enjoy playing the games we create. We are going to be making a number of improvements to the game, I’m also keen to clear up a few misconceptions about RuneScape at the same time and I also believe there are a few things we have done wrong in the past that I want to apologise for.

To start off with, we want to be more open and listen to our players. Some of you may consider Jagex a secretive and closed-off company which isn’t how we want to be perceived moving forward. Unlike most other companies, it just isn’t our style to spend our time self marketing or shouting about how great we are, we prefer to just get on with it and make cool games, but that doesn’t mean we don’t listen to what you have to say.

A good example of this is that a lot of free players told us they found our video adverts before the game annoying to the point it was putting them off playing, so we’ve scrapped them with immediate effect. We now appreciate that it can be frustrating having to sit through a video advert when you just want to play RuneScape, so we have to put our hands up to admit we made a mistake and say that we’re sorry. To be completely candid with you, video adverts generate significantly more revenue than other adverts, but as one of our fundamental philosophies is that having fun is more important to us than making as much money as possible, we have removed video adverts from the game.

We are also planning to change the way we communicate with you. We are going to be bringing back Development Diaries but making them more regular and focused on some of the different projects we’re currently working on for you. These will replace Behind the Scenes, which we have found a creative constraint on our developers as the promised content has to come out as communicated in order to avoid disappointment and prevented us from surprising you with better or different content. It has also led to compromises in quality that we’ve not been happy with and, most importantly, pieces of content being released which you, our players, have not enjoyed as much as you should. A side benefit of this is that we’ll be releasing more content which will be a complete surprise to you, so keep your eyes peeled for updates!

We’d also like to clear up a few issues surrounding the free game. RuneScape is different from all other MMOs in that the free game has an epic amount of content (we’d estimate over 2,000 hours worth to get all your skills up to 99 and complete all the quests) and isn’t merely a demo for the members’ version. If anything, we see the members’ version as an expansion pack for those that really love the game and we feel both games are substantive in their own right. I want to apologise for habitually over-promoting the benefits of membership to our free players. I strongly believe if you love the free game you will equally love the members’ content and that is sufficient promotion to me. If you can’t enjoy the free game in its own right then we’re not doing our jobs properly. We will continue to improve the free game and, crucially, make it as fun as possible because we know that this is the way that everyone first discovers RuneScape.

We also have a long-term commitment to improving all the aspects of the game – from overall graphical enhancements through to new gameplay mechanics.

Another thing that has cropped up in recent times, which we’d like to clear up once and for all, is the common belief that RuneScape is a game aimed at kids. This is absolutely not the case. We can see how this view has fostered, however, thanks to our over-zealous chat filter, Quick Chat worlds, “dumbing down” of certain bits of humour and storylines, as well as certain areas of the game like the Stronghold of Security, which do provide solid security advice but perhaps come across as a little condescending to the vast majority of our older players. I unreservedly apologise for this and to rectify this we have already removed a number of words from the chat filter and are currently working on reviewing and amending any content we feel is too kid-focused.

RuneScape benefits from one of the most diverse player demographics in the industry and is truly reflective of the worldwide population. As a responsible company we have had to comply with certain regulatory obligations to ensure online safety for any younger players and as a result we introduced Quick Chat for players under a certain age, but this was to meet our legal responsibilities rather than who the game is designed for, it’s probably also worth noting that we have a total of 4 Quick Chat worlds in a total of 165 RuneScape worlds. As I said earlier, we are gamers at heart and we try to design games and content which we ourselves would enjoy playing. I’m an active RuneScape player and I’m ever so slightly over 21 :)

We are also committed to working with our fans in the RuneScape community to make the game a more enjoyable place to be. We will be running community events, tournaments and JMod participation in-game to provide more support to you and make RuneScape an even better place to be.

To kick things off in this new era of openness I’m going to be answering your questions. For the next week we will open a thread in the News and Announcements forum for questions, and in a week’s time I will post answers to a selection of your questions. So please feel free to drop-in and ask a question or tell me what you think of the game.

If you’re a free player, you won’t be able to post on the forums, but you can email me at questions@jagex.com. This email address will work for the next week, so you’ve got plenty of time to get your questions and comments in.

Have fun!

Tale of the Muspah

Posted by amber

What You Need: Shantay pass, Desert robes, Waterskins (can be obtained before entering the desert), 4 Cut Sapphires or a Pickaxe and a Chisel (you can mine Sapphires in the cave), 8 Cosmic and 8 Water runes (you have to be using normal spellbook) and a Hatchet. You also need at least 7 free inventory slots for Rafts and the Knife, Spade and Tinderbox given by Erjolf.

Recommended Skills: 20 Crafting for cutting Sapphires if you decide to mine your own.
Recommended Items: Energy potions.

Scroll down to the end of the guide to find a ‘Fast Quest Walkthrough’.

——————————————————————————–

Getting Started

To start this quest, go northeast of Rellekka until you reach the icy mountain. It is recommended that you use the Fairy Ring code DKS to be teleported directly to the quest start point.

a>Speak to Erjolf, who tells you that he has found something strange in the nearby cave. Agree to keep it a secret and follow him inside.

You’ll then appear in the cave, with Erjolf on the other side of the river. Click on the flat rock near the water to cross it.

Follow Erjolf until you reach the cave opening and enter it. Follow him to the ice block and speak to him. He tells you that there is something in the ice and he needs to get to it to finish the Fremennik Trials. Tell him that maybe you could help him with the Trials.

He tells you that he might have an idea how to melt the ice around the armor. Tell him that you are ready to learn how to melt the ice. He tells you about building boats, more specifically rafts, and sending them floating towards the ice, thus melting it with fire.

A cut scene will follow, in which he teaches you how to make a raft out of Driftwood. Take about 10 pieces of Driftwood from the nearby piles and use your Knife on them. You can get all the required tools for this part from Erjolf. When you are ready to release a Raft, simply stand near the water and release it. You’ll then automatically set fire to the released Rafts.

He tells you that the Rafts keep missing their target and there are 4 streams that affect their floating direction. You’ll have to block or clear some of them to adjust the flow. To block a stream, use your Spade on the ice mound next to where the water flows out of the cave; use the Spade on the blockage if you want to restore the flow.

Melting the Ice

•North stream - This is the only one that feeds the pool (water is flowing towards the middle).
•West stream - Water flows out of the pool through this stream and any nearby rafts will move towards it until it is blocked.
•South stream - Water flows out of the pool here.
•East stream - Same effect as west and south streams.
He gives you one final tip: If you release several Rafts at once, they’ll come to rest against each other. This means you can melt hard to reach ice by releasing several Rafts at once. Remember to speak to Erjolf to get a free Spade, Tinderbox and a Knife.

1.Block the west and east streams.
2.Go north of the ice block, release 4 Rafts from 4 different locations near the water to melt the 4 northern ice columns.
3.While on the same piece of land, release 4 or 5 Rafts one after another. They will follow each other and get stuck behind a rock in the water, melting all of the eastern ice columns.

5.Unblock the west stream and block the south stream.
6.Repeat step 3 while standing in the corner of the land piece that is between south and east streams. Let the Rafts float to the far-away rock, melting all the southern ice columns.
7.Block the west stream and unblock the east stream.
8.Go to the west stream and release 2 Rafts from either side of the western river. Make sure that they are in the water north of you (if standing on the southern side) or south of you (if standing on the northern side).

Speak to Erjolf after removing all of the ice and he discovers that it is in fact a frozen monster, not a piece of armor. He wonders why the ice around the monster didn’t melt.

The Natural Historian

He suggests you to go talk to a natural historian who is in the area. The historian is located on the Trollweiss Hunter Area, also known as the Snow Hunter Area. Erjolf also asks you to take a look at the creature to describe it to the historian. Go to the Trollweiss Hunter Area, ascend the ice stairs and go to the northeast corner of the area. Speak to the natural historian, ask him if he knows what a yeti looks like, and then ask him if he is any good at identifying creatures.

He’ll then ask some questions about the creature:

Q: What color is the creature?
A: It’s yellow.

Q: How many arms does it have?
A: Four.

Q: How many legs does it have?
A: No legs, it’s like a snail.

Q: Describe its head.
A: It has spikes which run down its spine.

Q: Does it have a tail?
A: It has a spiky tail, with vicious spines.

Q: Describe the creature’s hands.
A: It has pincers, like a crab.

He then recognizes the creature but can’t tell more than you already know. Ask him how you can find out more about the creature and he tells you that a statue, which had a remarkable similarity to the creature you’ve described to him, was found in the Kharidian Desert.

The Statue

The statue is located east of the Desert Mining Camp. He gives you a Lumbridge teleport to shorten your trip to the desert. Make sure you bring a Spade. Go to the desert and click on the sand pile while having a Spade in your inventory to clear it from the sand.

Ali the Wise will appear and tell you that he was looking for it as well. He asks you to come talk to him to discuss it more. Tell him that you have found a creature that looks exactly like the statue.

He tells you that the creature is a Muspah, which is a fearsome predator, combined of various creatures. Ask him why he thinks that the creature you found is a myth.

Bring up the topic of clearing the ice from around the Muspah. He will teach you his special ways if you promise to tell him all about your discoveries later (he lives in Nardah). You must bring 4 Cut Sapphires, 4 Cosmic Runes, and 4 Water runes. You’ll need to use a knife to bore the Sapphires into the ice around the creature, then enchant them using the runes. You can also mine Uncut Sapphires in the new cave but this means you’ll need a Pickaxe and a Chisel. You can ask Ali’s help to get back to the cave faster and he will give you a Camelot teleport.

Meeting Jhallan

Head back to the cave and speak to Erjolf. Cross the floating bridge to the frozen Muspah and bore your sapphires into the ice block. Erjolf comes to claim his trophy but the creature suddenly comes to life, frightening Erjolf away. After he runs away, talk to the creature. Make sure you pick up your 4 Sapphires before you leave, as you will need them later on in the quest. After telling it where and what it is, it changes to Jhallan, a Mahjarrat. Talk about all the options and then ask about the ritual of rejuvenation. Ask him what he needs now.

He doesn’t have power to go into hibernation under the ritual site so he asks for your help. For this you need 4 Sapphires, 4 Cosmic and 4 Water runes, and a Knife. You’ll need to find a way to the caves beneath the ritual site.

The Caves

Leave the cave and speak to Erjolf. Ask him how to get to the location and he tells you to meet him on the west coast of the Trollweiss Hunter Area. Bring a Hatchet and speak to him near the fallen log in the hunter area. Craft a canoe and board it. You’ll appear in a new area.

Enter the cavern near the canoe. Speak to Jhallan who tells you that he is standing directly under the ritual area.

He asks you to find a place that is very cold, has no light, no creatures, and no water. The cave has several rooms with creatures, water and light. Rooms with brown floors and walls are not cold enough. Find the room that doesn’t have any of these factors.

The suitable area is in the southwest corner of the dungeon. Once there, speak to him and ask him if the place is suitable. At first, he refuses to give you a reward but after threatening him, he gives you a Muspah’s tail as a trophy for Erjolf. Position your 4 Sapphires around him and then enchant them.

Go out of the cave, take your canoe back to the Trollweiss Hunter Area and speak to Erjolf.

After giving him the trophy…

Fight Pits Guide

Posted by amber

You may wonder, what are the Fight Pits? Well the answer is simple! The Fight Pit is a free-for-all last Person standing game. You can attack everybody with any form of Combat, this also means somebody with a high Combat Level is able to attack someone with a low Combat Level.

Luckily when you die you do not lose any of your belongings.

The Fight Pit is located inside TzHaar City, you can find this City in the Karamja Volcano where it is warm. When you climb down the Rope into the Volcano you should see the Cave Entrance, head into it to re-appear inside the TzHaar City.

Once you arrive at Fight Pit chances are you will have to wait in the Waiting Room before your allowed to go in. Inside the Waiting Room you will find a Viewing Orb, With this you can observe the fighters inside the Pit.

Since the Fight Pit is so big you can pick the Orb you want to use, using the screen displayed above, so there is plenty to do during your wait!

However, the match is not over until just one Character is left standing. This can sometimes take quite a while, depending on the amount of People that went into the Pit. So after awhile the Game will help by spawning Monsters into the Pit, BEWARE! It starts out with a Level 22 Bat, but the longer the match takes the stronger the Monsters will be.

When the match is over the winner will receive a TokKul Reward, this Reward is equal to the combined Combat Levels off all Players that were in the pit during the match. The winner will also have his name displayed on the Screen and has the ability to make fun of the losers from inside the Pit. Since the winner stays inside the Pit he cannot get out to restock on his supplies, this is to avoid the same Person winning over and over again.

Do you want to brag to your friends that you have 99 Hunter? Do you want to get a skill to 99 but you’re on a tight budget? Do you just want to know how to get 99 hunter? If you answered yes to 1 or more of these questions, chances are you will like this article!

Get about 20k
Complete Priest in Peril quest.
Go to Yanille where you will find a hunter shop.
Find your way to the Hunter Shop which is right next to the Magic Guild.
Buy 1 Butterfly net, 5 bird snares, 2 noose wands (1 is a back-up) and 6 box traps. You will also need about 10-20 butterfly jars. You will use all of these on your way to 99 Hunter. If you are willing to make trips you can just get 2 noose ropes and 5 bird snares.
If you are level 1 go to the Varrock museum downstairs and talk to an NPC named Orlando. He should be right next to the staircase you came down. Do what he says and then when you finish you should get level 9 hunter.
Head to the Woodland Hunter area when your hunter is level 9. It is located just south of the Piscatoris Fishing Colony and west of the gnome stronghold.
This may seem boring at first, but when you get 99 you’ll be happy.
Hunt Copper Longtails until it is level 15.
Continue to hunt Copper Longtails, but go with your butterfly net and hunt Ruby Harvests at the same time. When you get to level 20, you can set 2 traps at one time.
Get your hunting level to 29.
Go to the Hunter spot southwest of the bank in Canifis.
Catch swamp lizards. You can set 3 traps when you are level 40.
Do this until Hunter level 47.
When you get to 47 buy desert robes and desert boots, and 14 waterskins(4). Go to the Orange salamanders in the desert. (east of shanty pass place, cross bridge =]) release them all. no one buys them and there are no banks nearby.
At 53 head back to where you caught the Copper Longtails, but this time bring 500gp with you (1k for safety)and 4 BOX TRAPS then enter the fenced off area to the EAST of the Copper Longtails.
Then go to the Chinchompas and catch them.
Once you’ve got 59 hunter, hunt red salamanders.Located South west of East Ardougne.
Catch salamanders until until Hunter 63 (65 if you want faster xp!).
Head to Feldip Hills again, but go to where the screen turns black at the west side.
Set four box traps and the Red Chinchompas will be attracted to the trap. Just like the other Chinchompas, they stack so you can keep them!
Stay here until your level is 99. At 99 you will have caught about 48,000 Red Chinchompas, which you can either use them for Ranged xp or sell them at 600-800 each for a whopping 28.8-38.4m.
If you want the skill cape after you’ve achieved 99 hunter, you can go to feldip. The hunting master will sell you a hunter cape and hood for 99k, and lives in the hut near the red chinchompas.
Always try to get to 99 hunter without taking breaks.
It shall take around two-six weeks to get from level 1 to 99 and for me getting from level 9 to 63 took 4 days so 63 to 99 is a lot harder.
Remember, it’s just a game! Don’t miss out on your social life just to get 99 hunter.
Always stay at least 4 or 5 steps from your trap, as this will make the prey less hard to catch.
Have fun! Hunting is one of the most fun skills to train, and enjoy your 99 Hunting Skill Cape.
If you’re worried about killing chinchompas while hunting, wield a bow or crossbow with out any ammo, it will not let you attack them.
There are many ways to 99 and some may be better than others, but if you are looking for the fastest way, this is it.
You may want to consider wearing Larupia clothes in the Feldip Hills Hunter area to help your chances of making a successful catch.

•Make money easy with this easy to use guide!
•Merchanting - Go to world 1 and buy some cheap easily sellable items and then sell them on for more, if done right you can get loads, but need money to start with.
•Air Running - At at least 2k a trip all you need to do is go to world 16 and get 25 rune essence and an air talisman or tiara, then go into the air altar (SW of Falador) and trade some saying “Open 2k/Ess” (or more than 2k) and offer the 25 essence, they should give you 2k and 25 noted rune essence, then you go to the bank (north) and store the coins and essence, get the essence out as item, and then go back to the altar and repeat.
•Yew Logs - Chop yew logs in Edgeville, and you can sell 1k for at least 300k in Varrok west bank.
•Pking - You can PK if you are good enough but this is risky.
•Cow Hides - For low levels this works well as 100gp a hide is very useful at this stage.
•Wines of Zammy - Available in a room north from These are good if you can use telekinetic grab, or you can kill all the monks to get to it, you can these for 900gp each or for laws and cash from a lot of people.
•Coal/Iron/Steel Bars - Mine coal or iron and sell them at Falador bank, or make steel bars and sell them for more.
•Killing High Level Monsters - If you are a high enough level you can kill lesser demons etc and get cash, runes and other good drops which are good money.
•Lobsters - If you fish and cook them at Karamja you can either travel back to Port Sarim yourself, or get a friend to help and share the profits. They sell for about 300 each which is quite good.
•Big Bones and Limpwurt Roots - This is good if you want to gain combat as well, fighting hill giants gives both, as well as cash and useful runes that can be used or sold.

The following are some tips to earn some easy money:

(1) Through mining

-PART 1-
Get your mining level to lv115 1st,
If your going for the easy way,
Get your mining level to 60 (mine only irons)
You’ll have about 7822 iron ores
You can sell your iron ores for 100gp each and that’ll earn you around 770k-800k

-PART 2-
If you’re going for the tougher task,
Like in part 1,get your mining to 15 but after 30 start to mine coals
From my calculation:
The iron ores between level 15-30 + coals between lv30-60 will let u make this amount : 780k to 950k (If u sell the iron ores for 100gp each and coal for 150-180gp each)

Notes: Remember to change your pickaxe whenever the requirements hits, this’ll help a lot as the speed for getting ores will be faster..
Notes: As you get to level 60 mining, you can go ahead n proceed to the mining guild to get more ores…
Notes: Smithing wont be so much of earning when it’s below 70, after 70 you can make more then 20k at once easily…

-PART 3-
You can also earn easy money through ores but u need starting money, just around 100k will do..
All u have to do is to buy coal(example) 100-120gp each from people and sell it at a higher price (example:150gp each for 1-500 coals,180gp each if u have tons of coals)

(2)Through Magic

-PART 1-
The best way for making money in magic perhaps is through runecrafting…
The higher the level of runecrafting, the more money you’ll obtain…
For starters: The Best way is to runecraft air runes…
Air altar is located outside south of the entrance to falador and a bank is near.
You can try to sell the air runes for 15-20gp each which most of the rich guy buy them at…
-PART 2 & PART 3-(Tips tat need a lot of money)
2nd way is to get a capital of at least 220k..
All u need to do is stay in the runes shop and buy runes
Buy chaos and death runes and proceed to world with a larger population to sell your runes (chaos 120-150gp each, death-260-300gp each)
REQUIREMENTS FOR PART 3: Level 55 magic level
This tip also requires money because you’ll be buying rune med for high level alchemy
Buy rune med from player 10k each and nature rune 200-300gp each
After high level alchemy you’ll obtain 11520gp,you will get 1220 or 1320gp more profit for each high level alchemy…

(3)Through woodcutting
-PART 1-
Woodcutting is perhaps the easiest money earning skills to train on.
All you need is chop till your woodcutting gets higher than 60.
Once u reach level 60-woodcutting, you’ll have like 4056 willows…sell them for 30gp each n you’ll get between 120k -122k of cash.
At level 60 woodcutting, you can start to woodcutting yews but it’ll be quite slow so u need to put in some effort to get yr woodcutting level higher for faster yew logs.
Sell your yew logs between these ranges: 300-375gp each
-PART 2-
Again, this part is about Merchanting.
All you need is money of 250k or more.
Buy yews from other players at 250gp each and sell others for more like 300-375gp each
-PART 3-
If u happens to be a member, it’ll be great for you.
You can fletch your logs to make more money.
When u can fletch yew logs, try to high level alchemy them you’ll gain quite a big amount of money rather than selling them to shops.
———————————————————————-
You can also make money by buying rune plate bodies for 60-70k and selling for 80-90k

Are you frustrated with rocks intimidating you with their weird colors? Follow my guide to give them what they deserve, while profiting from them.

Level 1-6:

If you plan on training mining only, then you can do the rune mysteries quest and mine rune essence to sell for 35 each. If you plan on training mining and smithing, then mine copper and tin (Falador mine is best due to the proximity of the bank and the furnace) to make into bronze bars that can be sold for 100 each. Check the forums on Runescape to find bronze bar buyers (you don’t have to be a member).

Level 6-21:

Either way, by this time you should have enough money to buy a steel pickaxe from Nurmof (inside the Falador mine). Use the steel pickaxe and continue mining the essence or copper and tin.

Level 21-31:

Now, go buy a mithril pickaxe from Nurmof with the money you’ve earned and use it to mine iron rocks in the southern portion of the Falador mine (low level miners mine here). Sell the iron ore at Falador bank for 100 each on world 1-5 (whichever isn’t full when you look).

Level 31-41:

Go buy an adamant pickaxe from Nurmof with your money. Mine the iron in the northern portion of Falador mine now. If the scorpions hurt you too much, then you can still mine the iron where you were before.

Level 41-60:

Go buy a rune pickaxe from Nurmof or from players for 32k (32,000 coins) if there isn’t one at his shop. Mine any coal rocks you can find (many coal rocks will be used by higher-level miners). Sell the coal for 180 each on worlds 1-5. An alternative may be to mine gold rocks in the crafting guild if you have over level 40 crafting or anywhere else you can find them. You can then sell the gold ores for 450-500 each (just find a buyer in the forums).

Level 60-70:

You now have access to the mining guild. There are 37 coal rocks and 5 mithril rocks in the mine. You can continue to mine coal or gold, but you can also mine mithril rocks that sell for 400 each on the forums.

Level 70-85:

You can continue mining the rocks you did from level 60-70; however, at level 70 you can mine adamantite ores that sell for over 1k each.

Level 85+:

Congratulations, you can mine rune; however, for f2p (free to play) players, the only rune rocks are found in high wilderness. The ores can be sold for 12k each, so it’s your choice to mine them or not.

Here you can learn how to make millions of GP starting from scratch.
If you have nothing go to the chickens in Lumbridge. Kill chickens until you have about 1k feathers , sell them for 7-10 each. Then you have about 7k-10k. Buy feathers for 5 each, until you have used all your money. When you have used all of your money sell the feathers for 7-10 each again, do this until you have about 50k-100k.

If you have 50k buy nature runes for 250each, if you spend all 50k of nature runes you should have 200. Sell the 200 nature runes for 300gp-320gp each then you should make 10k and you will be at 60k do the same thing until your have about 100k.

When you have 100k it is a lot easier to merchant. All you have to do now is merchant coal or iron even. Buy coal for 150each with your 100k that should get your around 666. Sell the coal for 200GP+. Now you should be at 133k+. You should do that until you get 200k.

Now you need to buy steel bars for 600 each. With 200k that should get you 333. Sell those for 650 each now you will be at 216k. If you are a member make cannon balls. With 333 steel bars you can make 1332 cannon balls and sell them for 200 each. Now you should have around 266k. Personally I just merchant the coal until I have about 600k then I buy 1k steel bars and make them into 4k cannon balls and sell the cannon balls for 800k. So while you smith a lot you gain much experience.

Now that you know how to merchant just try to buy a lot of runes or ores or what ever you want at a low price and then sell them for more.

Easy-Runescape-Gold-for-F2p

Posted by amber

Tired of being poor in Runescape?
In Runescape, it is much harder to make money in f2p than in p2p, Members have countless ways to make easy gold because of their high stats, more skills and more places to visit while the others work hours to get some decent cash. However, there are some easy ways to make money in Runescape. I will list the top five ways here.
AIR-RUNNING
This is probably the easiest way to make money in Runescape since it requires no skills at all and you can make 2000g per minute with it. To begin get your hands on 25 rune essence, either mine it or buy it. Then go to the air altar in world 16, You will notice that the place is very crowded. This is the world 16 aircraft company, the biggest air company in Runescape. You will see that some people are shouting “open 2k”, trade with that person and offer him the 25 essence, he with give you 2000 gold and 25 noted essence. Take the essence to the nearest bank, un-note it, and trade it with another person at the air altar for another 2000g and noted essence. Repeat these steps as much as you want. You will make a ton of money soon.

MINING ESSENCE
Mining and selling essence is a slower way of making money but it gives you some mining experience. To begin with complete the rune mysteries quest, Then go to Varrock in any world between 1 and 8. Go to Aubury’s rune shop and have him teleport you to the essence mines, mine the essence until your inventory is full and then store the essence in the north bank. Repeat these steps until you have 100 essence, take the 100 essence out of your bank (noted) and start shouting “selling ess”, the people there are usually desperate to buy essence so you will get some trade offers soon. Never sell your essence for less than 30g each, You can get at least 3000g for every 100 essence you mine.

NEWT EYES
This is a very profitable business but requires some patience and some starting cash. Get 3k cash and go to the magic shop in port Sarim, the shop sells newt eyes for 3g each, fill your inventory with them and store them in the draynor bank. Keep buying eyes until you have 1k eyes stored in your bank. Now go to Varrock in any world between 1 and 8 and you can sell 1k eyes to people for as much as 250k. This is because anyone who is raising his herblore skill doesn’t have enough time to go back and forth from the bank and will be willing to spend that much money for something so cheap. For those who dont know, Newt eyes are used for making potions.

STRONGHOLD OF SECURITY
For those who don’t know, the stronghold of security has 10k waiting for any player who has enough time to go there. To go to the stronghold, go to the barbarian village and go down the hole that is in the mining site. The stronghold has 4 levels, each level with more dangerous monsters than the last one. You’ll need some good armour, food and defence level to survive the monsters inside. The first level gives 2k, second one gives 3k, third one gives 5k and the fourth one gives some fancy boots. Its a good place to level up for f2p.

MAKING RUNES
It is actually possibly for f2p to make lots of money by runecrafting. Runes sell for 20g each in world 1-8 Varrock. Not only you will gain lots of mining and Runecrafting experiernce, but you will make lots of money. The higher your runecrafting level gets, the more runes you will be able to make, and the more runes you make, the more money you earn. Once you have a lot of money, you can buy the essence from other players instead of mining it and even start your own rune business. Just stay away from body runes, they may give more experience but no one buys them so you’ll just waste time.

Now that you have your information, log on to Runescape and start making some gold!
