This runecrafting guide includes mining rune essence, which I would recommend getting a high level. If you don’t have high level mining or can’t buy the essence, then read my Runescape Money Making Guide .

Before you start:
Complete the Rune Mysteries quest by first talking to the Duke in the Lumbridge castle. Bring the mysterious object to Sedridor in the WizardTower basement. Then, take it to Aubury in Varrock rune shop. Come back to Sedridor and you’ve finished the quest.

Level 1-22:
Go to Varrock and get a pickaxe (highest you can use). Mine 1,120 rune essence. Use the talisman from the quest and get a tiara. Then, go to Falador east bank. Go south to the air altar. Use the talisman on it, then use the tiara on the altar inside. Then wear the air tiara and go back to the bank. Get as much essence as possible from the bank and go back to the altar. This time you’ll only have to click the altar to get inside. Keep doing this until you finish off the essence. When you’re finished, you can sell the air runes or keep them.

Level 22-44:
Get 10,005 essence and make air runes. By this time, you should be able to make 3 air runes per essence. This makes a profit when buying for 30-35 each. You’ll be able to sell the air runes 15-20 each. That means you make 15-25 profit per essence.

Level 44-55:
If you’re a member, then get 12,332 pure essence and make natures. If you’re f2p (free to play), then get 22,198 essence and make it into airs. Relax, you get profit if you’re buying them. You can make 5 airs per essence. That means for 30-35 each essence, you get 45-65 profit per essence. That’s over 1 million gp!

Level 55-66:
36,625 pure essence if you’re making natures; 65,924 essence if you’re making airs. Air-makers can make 6 airs per essence now. If you’re making airs, that’ll make you almost 4 million gp!

Level 66-77:
108,815 pure essence if you’re making natures; 195,866 essence if you’re making airs. Air-makers can make 7 airs per essence now. That’s 14 million gp!

Level 77-88:
323,355 pure essence if you’re still making natures; 582,039 essence if you’re making airs. Air-makers can make 8 airs per essence now. That’s over 52 million gp!

Level 88-99:
960,962 pure essence if you’re making natures; 1,729,731 essence if you’re making airs. Air-makers can make 9 airs per essence now. At level 91, nature-makers can make 2 natures per pure essence. At level 99, air-makers can make 10 airs per essence. That’s over 181 million gp!!

Runescape Combat Calculator On many top Runescape fan sites you will notice that they provide a set of skill calculators. What are skill calculators? Basically a skill calculator tells you what level you currently are and the amount of individual items you need to carry out to get to your next level. A combat calculator will ask you for your current levels in; attack, strength, defence, hitpoints, range, magic and prayer. When it has used a calculation on these skills it will return you with your current combat level and how many levels of either of the skills you need to advance in to gain your next combat level. Combat Level Explained and Its Influence By knowing a player’s or monsters combat level you are able to tell how hard it would be to defeat them in the case of a battle. Levels that are a lot lower than yours will appear in green, levels that are a little lower than yours will show slightly more yellow, levels that are the same as yours will appear as yellow and levels higher than you range from orange to deep red. Monsters that attack you without warning will normally only stop attacking you if your combat level has equalled or is slightly/a lot higher than theirs. This is different with all monsters as some will attack you no matter what Combat level you are. If a monster is a higher level than you then you cannot just click on it to attack it, you must right click to attack it. This is for your own characters safety as you may not want to risk losing to a monster that is 80 levels higher than you and could potentially kill you in one hit. Each new player of Runescape 2 starts off as a level 3 and can reach a maximum of level 126. This differs to Runescape Classic where the maximum level is 123. Calculating Your Combat Level •Get your Prayer level, divide it by two and then round the number down. For example: If your Prayer level is 47 and you divide it by two it gives you 23.5. You then need to round this down which will give you 23. •You need to add the above result to your Defence and Hitpoints level and then divide the whole lot by 4. This is called a base combat level. For example: If your Defence level is 50, Hitpoints level is 50 and your Prayer level is 47 then you should end up with the result 36.75. •Now add your Attack and Strength levels to one another and times them by 0.325. Add this to the base combat level which is made by using methods 1 and 2. You will now have your melee combat level. •There is only real need to carry on now if your Magic or Range level is not a lot higher than your Attack and Strength levels. Use the highest level from your Magic and Range levels. Range is used in the next step. •Divide the Range level by 2 and then round down. Add your Range level to this and you are given a result. •Times this result by 0.325 and then add it to your base combat level calculated in step 2. You will now have what’s called a magic combat level. So is the above calculation absolutely 100% correct? The answer is no. No-one other than Jagex knows the exact combat calculation. Without going into the specifics of where you can obtain yourself a Runescape Auto Woodcutter (because I’m not encourage you to use them) they can generally be found fairly easily if you do a bit of searching around. The following guide just offers some fairly simple Runescape hints and tips that will hopefully help you with some of the more prominent aspects of Runescape.
Best Ways to Train
Ideally when you are training your combat you want to train on something that won’t deal you too much damage, because otherwise it will cost you a lot of time and money to obtain the food required to train on such things. You also want to train on something that you can kill relatively quickly, meaning you want to train on something that has comparatively low defence compared your general combat level, because this normally means there is less chance for them to deal you damage and you can experience a lot quicker if you aren’t always hitting zeros.

Another factor that should be considered when you are training your combat is armour and weapons. These make a significant difference to your training, particularly when you are lower levels. Having a good weapon and even the most basic armour can greatly reduce the amount of damage you are dealt and improve the speed at which you kill the Runescape monsters. Whilst armour may be difficult to save up for in your very early levels, hopefully somewhere by level 10 you should have save up enough to be able to afford to buy yourself some iron armour and a nice steel weapon. You really should look to try and be as best equipped as possible when it comes to combat training because it really does make a major difference. That’s the first hint for your Runescape combat training.

As suggest above a good tip for when you are starting out in Runescape is when you start training you need something that will quickly advance your levels. I suggest that you head out of Lumbridge Castle, walk across the bridge opposite and walk north until you find yourself with a small farm on the left. Here you will find chickens. Kill these until you reach level 5 - 10 combat and then can look to start training on something a little tougher like some level 3 men, which can you find just north of Falador at a place called Edgeville. Train on these until you achieve a few more levels of which you can then head to the Goblin Village just north of Doric’s Anvils.

After gaining some more levels you can head towards Varrock by walking along the path but stop at Barbarian Village. When you get there attack some of the level 10 barbarian men until you reach around level 30 - 35 combat. This can also be quite a good place to start working on your range if you want. After reach 30+ combat you can now consider crossing the bridge just east of Barbarian Village and then head immediately north to a hut containing a ladder. You will need a brass key to enter this hut but when downstairs you can train your levels quite quickly. When you’ve gone down the ladder you will see to the south of you there are hill giants. These are level 28 and you should not have too much difficulty with them, but more importantly these monsters also drop big bones which can be sold for up to 350-400 gold pieces, so you can make quite a bit of money as well as gaining combat levels.

You want to stay attacking these for a while as you need to and can gain a lot of levels as well as making a bit of money. When around level 50 you should head north of the giants, staying in the dungeon and you will come across hobgoblins. These are fairly aggressive so be careful and watch you hp level. You’ll want to stay here or possibly go back to the giants until you achieve your desired level of combat.

Some other popular training places when you are 50+ combat include the ice cave which is to the west of Port Sarim, or the skeleton graveyard in level 20 wilderness, or the hobgoblin mine in level 32 wilderness, or Ice mountain at level 45 wilderness, or the lesser demon pit on Karajama island.

Best Ways to PK - Tips for Runescape Magers
Maging is by far the best route to take if you wish to become an ultimate PKer. The one thing you have to watch is your hitpoints level so keep an inventory of food such as lobster which will heal you sufficiently enough. Use the highest spell that you can so you are hitting at the highest possible and more frequently. If training with a clan be sure you’re on a LootShare world so that you know for sure that you will receive some items. If you do not receive any items this time then you should do next time.

Hints for Runescape Rangers
Like the Magers technique you will need a food source such as lobsters. You should use the best resources available to you such as the best bow you can wield and the best arrows that can be used with that particular bow as you will be able to hit more on a player more quickly. The best way to PK someone if you are ranging is to use a short bow and use the rapid fire option available in the attack styles. If training with a clan be sure you’re on a LootShare world so that you know for sure that you will receive some items. If you do not receive any items this time then you should do next time.

Runescape party hats, often referred to as Runescape phats, were introduced into the game in Christmas of 2001. These Runescape party hats were not actually dropped in Runescape themselves rather they were introduced through the form of Runescape party crackers. These party crackers were dropped in Runescape for free and players were able to pick them up and then use them on other players. Then just like with normal party crackers inside there was an item accompanied by a party hat. One player would get the item, which was random, while the other player would get the party hat.
