This article contains information that may reduce your enjoyment of the Spirit of Summer and Summer’s End quests. If you especially enjoy surprises and discovering information for yourself, we recommend that you read this after completing those quests.

You must have started Spirit of Summer to gain access to the Spirit Beast’s Realm. When you complete this quest, you will be rewarded with Jennica’s Ring, which you can use to access a number of locations within the Spirit Beast’s Realm. The range of locations you can access increases when you have completed Summer’s End.

Introduction

Within the shadowy mirror of the Wilderness

There are many strange realms connected to RuneScape, either closely or in the most abstract of ways, and most are harmless, perfectly natural worlds. Zanaris, the fairy kingdom, for instance, or the Abyss, which seems to connect every plane to the others (which goes some way to explaining the chaos of that place). Parallel to the Wilderness, however, is an altogether more sinister realm that seems to exist solely because of a single inhabitant.

The Spirit Beast is a vast and brutal creature, more powerful than any other so far encountered by mortals. The other inhabitants of its realm are not so lucky, as it slowly drains their souls over the course of hundreds (and, perhaps, thousands) of years.

Location

The Spirit Beast’s Realm can only be accessed at a small number of locations, places where, for one reason or another, the boundaries between the living, natural lands of RuneScape come close to the cold and dust-filled lifelessness of the Spirit Beast’s Realm. Where this connection is strongest, a portal will be visible to those who know how to look for them, and can even be traversed. Where the connection is weak, though, there may only be the smallest flicker of a portal, or none visible to even those most attuned to the realm.

Points of Interest

The Spirit Beast’s Realm is a series of ‘pockets’ that fall in line with specific areas of the ordinary Wilderness. These are locations that, in the dark past of that shattered land, have been saturated with spiritual energy – either through sorcery or through the terrible slaughters that have taken place there.

The most obvious of these is the farm, where Summer and her family were cruelly murdered by heartless criminals. Equally, one can find additional portals in those places where people once lived, such as the ruins of the small town in the west, the graveyard to its north or the Chaos Temple ruins.

Being intrinsically linked to the Wilderness itself, an adventurer can very slightly manipulate one realm from the other in certain locations: where a coffin is open in one realm, for instance, it will be closed in the other. Because of this, it is also possible to obtain resources in one realm that are currently unavailable in the other, the depletion of which then leads to their appearance in the other.

Travel between the realms is also an enlightening experience, so an adventurer will find themselves much more knowledgeable about certain regions when they first pass through the portals by themselves.

Personalities

Summer Bonde

This poor little girl has been trapped in the Spirit Beast’s Realm for the last four hundred years, having her soul slowly eroded by the Beast’s insatiable hunger. Her innocence and pleasant disposition, however, may prove to be the Beast’s undoing.

  Erik Bonde

Summer’s father is fiercely protective of his daughter, which is unsurprising given the circumstances. It is likely that his intense love for his child is all that has kept her from falling into the same helpless shadows that the other inhabitants of the farm have slipped into.

Until freed, Summer can be found outside of Varrock‘s northern gate.   Erik can be found on the farm.
Jallek Lenkin

Jallek Lenkin was the Bonde family’s first farmhand, and has worked alongside them since he was little more than a child. Since being trapped in the Spirit Beast’s Realm, however, he has studied the ways of that place carefully and learned a few tricks from the dark sorcerers who once worked on the site of the farm.

  Meranek Thanatos

Before working for the Bonde family, Meranek was a soldier in the service of Misthalin. In the centuries that he has been trapped by the Spirit Beast, though, his fighting spirit has all but eroded, and now he fears another encounter with the Beast almost more than anything else.

Jallek can be found on the farm.   Meranek can be found on the farm.

Quests

There are no quests to start in the Spirit Beast’s Realm.

Trapped in the Spirit Beast’s Thrall

Ghostly Warrior (Level 42)

Left trapped in the hut they once called home, the warriors you might find in the Spirit Beast’s Realm have had untold years to prepare to take vengeance upon any invaders. Who can say when they were slain, or what horrific death it was?

  Ghost (Level 79)

Not all of the prisoners of the Spirit Beast can be seen in its realm: some are trapped in RuneScape, but only able to be freed by those in the alternate version.

The Spirit Beast

The Spirit Beast must truly be one of the most loathsome and terrifying creatures that any adventurer could have the misfortune to face. The ages it has spent feeding on the souls that it traps have left it bloated with power to such a degree that it is almost completely unconcerned by the petty itch that the mightiest of warriors can inflict upon it.

Whatever it is, and whatever gave it consciousness, one fact is clear: should it ever gain the ability to straddle both its own realm and that of RuneScape, its thirst would know no end.

Miscellaneous

  • The cursed magic tree in the ruined town can be cut down to gain cursed magic logs. These will turn into perfectly ordinary magic logs when passing back into RuneScape.
  • There is an ancient and insane spirit within the Spirit Beast’s Realm who has some interesting information for those who know how to interpret his riddles and madness-inspired metaphors.
  • Every portal offers an experience bonus when you first travel through them under your own power, but only if you have a level suitable to comprehend what you have learned. After Spirit of Summer you have access to portals offering:
11,250 Attack experience if you have level 38 Attack or higher.
15,000 Farming experience if you have level 50 Farming or higher.
15,000 Prayer experience if you have level 50 Prayer or higher. After Summer’s End:
7,500 Farming experience if you have level 45 Farming or higher.
7,500 Prayer experience if you have level 50 Prayer or higher.
7,500 Smithing experience if you have level 45 Smithing or higher.
15,000 Defence experience if you have level 80 Defence or higher.
15,000 Thieving experience if you have level 60 Thieving or higher.

Within these portals are further useful rewards beyond mere experience, but you will have to discover them for yourself.

Soul Wars

Posted by runescape

Far to the west, upon an island long isolated from the rest of RuneScape, two great creatures vie for control of a powerful obelisk but without any clear victor. Recently, a curious man upon a strange pilgrimage found the island and, for his own obscure purposes, has opened the field of battle to any who wish to pit their mettle against the smaller creatures of the island, other adventurers, or even the mighty avatars themselves…

Location

Location of the portal to Soul Wars

The island upon which the Soul Wars take place can be accessed through a portal concealed next to the ruined chapel in Edgeville. Quite why Nomad has chosen this location is unknown, but the aged ruins are surrounded by mysteries and rumours of strange rituals.

Requirements

There are no specific requirements to take part in the Soul Wars, but a high Slayer level and good Combat skills would be a distinct advantage.

Recommended Items

You cannot take any capes, food or other non-combat equipment into Soul Wars, but should come prepared for battle. Potions and familiars are permitted, and will doubtless prove to be exceptionally useful when the battle gets rough.

Fighting for Souls

When you first arrive on the island, you will encounter Nomad and his imp familiar. Nomad will offer you a quick tour of the field of battle along with a brief explanation, or a book that explains the basics of fighting in the Soul Wars.

When you feel you are ready to battle, you can enter one of the portals to the south of Nomad. The blue portal will align you with the Avatar of Creation, the red portal will align you with the Avatar of Destruction, and the green portal will attach you to the team with the fewest players.

Only one game can be played at any one time per world, but in theory every single player on that world could be taking part. Games last twenty minutes, with a minimum three minute waiting period in between, so you may have to wait for the previous game to end before you can get in. If you’re keen to join in, however, you can enter a portal, and once per minute new soldiers can be added to the battle provided the number of adventurers on each team remains equal.

Map of the Soul Wars island

Avatar of Creation   Avatar of Destruction
  Soul Obelisk   Capturable graveyards

The battlefield is divided up into three main areas:

  • The Avatar of Creation’s Base
Players on the blue team will begin here. None of the locations in this area can be captured by the red team.
  • The Avatar of Destruction’s Base
Players on the red team will begin here. None of the locations in this area can be captured by the blue team.
  • The Main Battlefield
There are a number of locations here, the most important of which are the Soul Obelisk and the two graveyards. These can be captured by having a greater number of your own team within their bounds for a short period of time. Jellies and pyrefiends can also be found wandering in the ruins around the battlefield.

Your base is composed of three main features: the avatar itself, a supply room and your team’s graveyard. The avatar cannot leave its enclosure, but your enemies can enter it to attack the great beast (at their peril, it should be noted!). The supply room contains bandages, which you can use to heal yourself and your team-mates, barricades and explosives (more information in the ‘Supply Areas’ section below). The graveyard is the location you will be resurrected in when you die (see the section on graveyards below for more information about this).

The object of Soul Wars is to defeat your opponents’ avatar as many times as you are able within the 20 minutes. The avatars begin each battle with a Slayer requirement of 100, making them impervious to everyone (because capes of accomplishment cannot be brought to the field of battle). In order to reduce their Slayer requirement, you will have to kill some of the smaller Slayer creatures to gather soul fragments and offer them to the Soul Obelisk, which can only be done if your team controls it.

Useful information

To help you keep track of all of the useful information, there is a display in the top-right corner of your screen.

The two grave symbols and the obelisk symbol indicate who (if anyone) has control over the graveyards and the Soul Obelisk.

The information on the right lets you know the current state of the avatars and how much time remains in the current battle.

Finally, the bar on the right shows how much effort you have been putting into the game. After two minutes, this bar will begin to decrease, but it will be topped up by performing various useful actions in the activity. If the bar completely empties, you will be removed from the game and prevented from joining a new one in the same way that you would if you had logged out.

Killing the Avatars

In order to kill your opponents’ avatar, you must first weaken it to enable as many of your team-mates to fight it as possible. As noted above, this is done by killing the jellies and pyrefiends around the main battlefield and offering the resulting soul fragments to the Soul Obelisk. The more fragments you offer, the lower the Slayer requirement will be, as noted by the ‘Avatar Level’ entry in the top-right of your window.

You can attempt to restore your avatar’s Slayer requirement by burying the bones of your defeated foes. Each time you do this, there is a chance that your avatar’s Slayer requirement will rise back up towards 100.

As if this wasn’t enough, the avatars have a Combat level of 525 and should not be underestimated.

Note that Summoning familiars are unable to harm the avatars, but are useful for killing off the smaller Slayer creatures and opposing players.

Death and Graveyards

When you are killed in Soul Wars (either by one of the creatures of the battlefield or another player), Nomad will protect you from the hunger of the Soul Obelisk and ensure that you are resurrected in the graveyard closest to where you died, provided that your team controls it. For a few moments, you will be a purely spectral form and unable to interact with anything, but you’ll soon be restored to your usual state, along with any equipment you were carrying.

Because the two graveyards in the main battlefield can be captured, they are especially valuable resources for getting access to the smaller Slayer monsters, the Soul Obelisk and your opponents’ base.

Supply Areas

Your base’s supply area contains bandages, barricades and explosive potions, all of which are useful for ensuring the battle favours your side.

You cannot trade in Soul Wars, but you can use bandages on your team-mates to heal some of their lost life points. Equally, you can use them yourself for the same benefit. You can carry as many bandages as you have inventory space.

Along with the bandages, you’ll discover that your base also has a table full of barricades. You can only carry one barricade at a time, and your team can only have ten barricades set up at once. You can set up a barricade in many places to hinder your opponents by simply clicking it in your inventory. If you find a barricade blocking your path, you can attack it or use explosives to remove the obstacle.

Explosive potions can be used on your enemies’ barricades to destroy them in a single blast. You can carry as many explosive potions as you have inventory space.

Winning the Game

Whichever team defeats their opponents’ avatar the greatest number of times will be declared the victor, any other result will be declared a draw.

Rewards

You will receive a number of ‘zeal points’ based on your performance in Soul Wars, at the rate of 3 points for a victory, 2 for a draw, and 1 for a defeat. These can be traded in with Nomad (or Zimberfizz, if you have completed Nomad’s Requiem) for a variety of rewards:

  • Experience
You can claim experience in Attack, Strength, Defence, Constitution, Ranged, Magic, Prayer or Slayer. One zeal point is worth a set amount of experience depending on your level in that skill.
  • Charms
Charms of any colour are available, the number you can claim depends on your combat skills’ levels.
  • Other
Most options here are new Slayer pets, resurrected from remains you bring along. If you bring a stuffed or unstuffed trophy of a crawling hand, cockatrice, basilisk, kurask or abyssal demon, Nomad will then supply you with a pet of that type. See Summoning – Pets for more information. You can also purchase a ‘gamble’. The gamble option will grant you a random reward – there is a wide range of possible rewards, but you’ll never know just what you’re going to get.

The experience you gain from a Zeal Point is based on your skill levels, so you may want to store them until you have levelled up a few times. The same applies to the end-of-quest reward from Nomad’s Requiem: you do not have to cash in your 70 Zeal Points immediately, and you can wait until you have gained a few levels before trading them in with Zimberfizz for combat experience. Additionally, you do not have to worry about levelling up before the end of the quest, as your Zeal Points reward can be cashed in at any time.

The seventh chapter in my Runescape money making guide.

The following are just some simple tips & tricks to keep in mind when try to make money. Some of these tips will seem obvious, however it is still important:

•Always use a calculator! For accurate trades it is very important to keep a calculator on hand. Make sure they are selling/buying for the price they said. I personally always keep a calculator on hand. You never know when you will run into scammers!
•Start slow! Start off only selling 1 or 2 items at first. When you first start merchanting items it is important too stay focused on 1-2 items. This will- help you learn and perfect the different sale techniques for your item, whether it be iron ore, coal, feathers, or whatever else you may be selling.
•Buy starting out slow you will be able to find out what works well and what does not.
•ALWAYS DEAL IN BULK! I can’t stress this enough, this is the easiest and almost the only way to make big money. It’s simple really: The more items you have the more profit there is to be made off of that item.
•Buy low and Sell High! This is obvious right? Use the price guide to double check the prices for items you are unfamiliar with.
•Be sure to use the most updated price guide.
•PATIENCE is the key, sometimes it can take awhile to sell. This is ok, if the items won’t sell for what you are asking (and the price of the items are relevant).
•DON’T SELL CHEAP! Just keep the items in your bank, and try to sell them later. Having items in your bank is just like having money on your pocket.
•Double check all trades to avoid scams. To good to be true? Most likely is.
•Never give in on your price, if they won’t buy it then leave, don’t waste your time with them. There are always plenty of buyers!!
•Use the FORUMS! They are there for a reason. This is the easiest way to sell in bulk. The forums are also a very good way to find bargains on low priced items as well. Forums
•Switch worlds often. If you cant find any good deals, log into another world, eventually you will find them. In general you can find items for less money in the less populated worlds. The higher the population in the world the higher the prices will be
•Try different bank locations to find the items your looking to buy/sell. Example - If buying ores or bars you should try the banks in Faldor as this town has a furnace and is close to mining areas. If you are buying Rune Essence visit the East Bank in Varrock, since it is close to the Rune Essence mine.

Runescape Trainers
I bet your wondering, ‘Is there not an easier method I can use to get my levels up quicker? The answer to your question is, yes and this article will provide you with information on how to do so. The best method is for you to use an automatic Runescape Trainer. What’s a Runescape Trainer? A Runescape Trainer is a program which allows you to leave the computer whilst it plays the role of you. The Runescape Trainer will automatically and continuously do whatever you set it to do. There are companies out there which will provide a service in which people will take turns to train your account by hand, without the use of programs.
Trainers and Hacks for Runescape
Your probably still wondering if I’m telling the truth about Runescape Trainers. ‘Is this really true?’ I hear you ask in disbelief. But, I would not lie, so, yes you can actually find Runescape Trainers on the internet which will automatically train your skills for you whilst you go out, go to sleep, watch television, or whatever you like doing. You can find out more about downloading, unbelievable but very much true.

Please be aware that we are not responsible for the programs you download and if they contain a virus and you become infected then it is not our problem. You should always have an up-to-date virus scanner active on your computer and before you run any downloaded programs you should scan them for a virus. If a file is infected, delete it immediately. Do I have to download a Runescape Trainer?
No, there is no reason why you should download one at all. Downloading programs such as this is against the rules of Runescape and your account will be banned for a substantial amount of time, if not forever. Runescape Wilderness

Posted by amber

Runescape Wilderness
In Runescape many years ago, players went out into a vast land to battle one another and become ever victorious. The Runescape Wilderness we know today is very different from the wilderness of the last six years. Here is a brief overview of what arguably used to be the most exciting part of Runescape used to be like:
What was the Runescape Wilderness
The Runescape Wilderness was a large area in which people could wander upon and fight one another until the end. The Wilderness was considered one of the biggest money makers of all time, with the idea of killing others to gain their items, though it was also considered one of the fastest ways for beginners to lose their fortunes. The wilderness was definitely not for the weak.

Dying With a Skull in the Wilderness
Well, you could attack other people, or you could be attacked, it was as simple as that. The only problem was that you have to be extremely careful in the Wilderness if you did not want to lose your best three items. When you venture into the Wilderness if you want to keep your best three items then I suggest you don’t attack anyone. The best thing to do was wait for someone to attack you. If you or someone else attacks first then a skull will be placed above your head. If you’re losing your battle and have good items, now was the time to panic and run. The skull above the head means that you are a PKer, a Player Killer. The skull would last for around 20 minutes and if you die before then, wave goodbye to all of your items, including your top three, unless you had the protect item prayer on

Where to Start Runescape Pking
There are entrances around Edgeville and East Varrock which can be seen in the image below.

When you enter the Wilderness you will have to jump across the Wilderness Ditch. This was a ditch that stretches the whole way across the entrance to the wilderness. When you click on the ditch to jump over a notice will pop up asking you if you really do want to cross over into the Wilderness. You can see what this popup box looks like below.

To enter the wilderness you had to click the ‘Enter Wilderness’ button. Your character will then hop over the ditch.

People You Could Attack In the Wilderness
The entire Wilderness was made up of 55 levels. The further you go in, the further you have to go to get back out. To make the Wilderness a fair place there was a rule introduced that a player can only attack another player if they are the amount of levels into the Wilderness as the difference between their levels. For example, I am a level 90 and wanted to attack a level 75. I must go into level 15 Wilderness to attack him or for him to attack me. Levels that wanted to attack a level 75 in level 15 Wilderness must be between level 90 and level 60.

Below is a list of all the major Runescape Wilderness areas.

Varrock Entrance
Varrock Wilderness entrance and its surroundings are the worst place to be caught off guard. If you get blocked from moving and blocked from teleporting and are against 10, 20, 30 high levels then you really need to watch out in case you get PKed (Player Killed).

Edgeville Entrance

Another highly watched area was the Edgeville entrance. I can guarantee you that there will always be someone waiting here. This was due to people running back and to from the Rune Crafting Abyss.

Hill Giants
You can see in the top right of the image two huts. The hut furthest on the right is where the Hill Giants hang around. This was a common place for PKers. There were bound to be people hanging around here waiting eagerly to kill others and steal their items. Watch out when walking past here, in fact, your probably best running through here as quick as possible.

Moss Giants
Next to the Red Dragon Isle around the Wilderness title you will find Moss Giants. This was a good place for PKing as it was always populated with players who were trying to train up and gain a few fast levels. At level 38 Wilderness your prey won’t be able to teleport away, and they won’t be able to steal your Moss Giants as this is a non-multi combat zone.

Rune Rocks

The mining symbol at the top left of the screenshot represents Rune Rocks. You will occasionally find a high level around these rocks mining away. When they see you they will normally log off and change world as they will not be carrying any armour or weapons. The rule I have found useful here is leave them alone and they will leave you alone.

Demonic Ruins
This was probably the worst place in the whole of the Free to Play Wilderness. In level 46-47 Wilderness do not take any items you are not prepared to lose.

Green Dragons

The darker dot on the left hand side of the image is where you’ll find a group of angry Green Dragons waiting for you to come along and slay. There are normally high levels training here.

The Abyss
Circled is the entrance to the Abyss. What is the Abyss? This is where you can access all rune altars and get quick and easy access to make your runes. Watch out for the PKers!

Mage Training Arena
This is where you can buy and charge your almighty God Staff’s. You can teleport yourself to the entrance of the Mage Arena by pulling a level in a hut in West Ardougne. Watch out for people waiting for you to teleport you as they will no doubt start attacking you. Remember that this was so far into the Wilderness that teleporting will not work.

How to Hack Runescape & Runescape Accounts
There are so many people these days looking to find out how to hack Runescape and more commonly how to hack Runescape accounts and Runescape passwords. I personally think this growing trend of people hacking Runescape is result of players trying to find shortcuts to becoming rich due to the fact that Runescape is a game that more than anything else requires time to excel at as there is little skill involved with Runescape other than maybe pking. So as such people are looking to find out how to hack Runescape. Unfortunately there is no way for people to be able to hack into Runescape unless they are able to find a Runescape glitch which is highly improbably unless they are actively looking for one, and considering there are millions of people playing the game the chances that you will be that one in a million to stumble upon a glitch in Runescape is slim to none. So what to people do instead of trying to hack Runescape? They spend their time focusing on how to hack Runescape accounts.

How Hackers Attempt to Hack Runescape Accounts
By far the most common way hackers, and I use this term loosely because they are not really hacking Runescape accounts at all, but they basically either make a website or create a forum post where they post something up along the lines of, just send me your Runescape password and username and I will hack Runescape and give all the items you want. Of course this is a complete load of rubbish and is just a way for them to hack your Runescape account once they have your Runescape password.

How to Avoid Having Your Runescape Account Hacked
It is pretty simple really. Never under any circumstance give your Runescape password to anyone, no matter what they promise. If you give your Runescape password out you are asking to have your items and account stolen. Next don’t download any supposed Runescape hacks, more often than not they are just Trojans and key loggers that are used to hack your Runescape account.

The only way to get ahead in Runescape is to spend time playing and developing your skills and character, there are no shortcuts so if you are looking for information on how to hack Runescape accounts you really need to think is the time invested in looking for Runescape hacks that don’t exist worth the time that could be spent on improving your character. I think you will find that your time will be much better spent just having fun playing rather than attempting to get your character back off some hacker that hacked your account in your attempt to find a shortcut to unlimited Runescape gold.

Moparscape Servers

Posted by amber

Moparscape Servers - Runescape Private Server Download
Well, the first question on your mind should be what are Moparscape Servers? No, they aren’t the Mopar (motor parts) made by Chrysler or any other auto company. Moparscape Servers are Private Servers which are not run by Jagex, but by players of Runescape who have created their own ‘Runescape’ Servers using Runescape as their starting base when they download moparscape. Users of private servers like Moparscape have more flexibility and game play options than on the official Runescape servers; examples given would be that users can set their levels by typing in client side commands different to every server and get them up almost instantaneously depending on the codes. You also do not need an IP or to register to play and just click ‘Start Server’ will let you get in to Moparscape Servers straight away.
Positive Aspects of Moparscape Servers
Moparscape servers serve as a haven of freedom to players who like a walk on the wild side when playing games and don’t want to be hampered by rules of game play with the fact that Moparscape itself is illegal by breaking Jagex’s copyright of Runescape. Moparscape servers also provide an alternative to Runescape players who might have been temporarily or permanently banned from their Runescape accounts but who still want to play Runescape. Private Servers like Hybridscape (which are built into Moparscape) also draw players who want to have some fun with doing weird stuff like walking through walls in Runescape, and many a player has had fun taking screenshots of themselves in Moparscape Servers with items like full dragon, and every party hat in or not in existence.

Negative Aspects of the Downloaded Moparscape Servers
Moparscape Servers are illegal as I’ve said above, since creators breach copyright laws by stealing code from Runescape to make their own servers. Jagex has often closed down such private servers by threatening creators with lawsuits from Jagex, but ten private servers also pop up with the demise of any one under different names. Moparscape also has many copycats pretending to be it when the copycats are just key loggers or malware with a false name, causing players to infect their own computers with viruses in the name of fun. You are advised not to use your real Runescape username and password, or any password that you use for sensitive information such as banking, e-mailing and working.

For more information on Moparscape servers, head over to Runescape cheating websites like sythe, eliteneo, fagex or the official Moparscape.org address to play moparscape, download moparscape or find the moparscape scripts list. You can also search on Google for where Moparscape is available on other websites.

Runescape Rare Items - Are They Keeping Runescape Popular?
I was recently thinking about all the things that might keep a game like Runescape successful. Now Runescape has a lot of things going for it that keep it addictive. Firstly the fact that they off free Runescape accounts is a wonderful feature that no doubt keeps loads of people happy and entertained without being required to pay for the game. Then there is the whole friends factor, with Runescape being quite an interactive game where you can make lots of new friends with whom you can enjoy yourself with and pass the time with. Then obviously there is the whole thing of setting goals and wanting to improve skills and just make those couple or levels so that you can do an assortment of new things in the game. Then I got to thinking about goals, and I couldn’t help but feel that for so many Runescape players one of their all time long term goals must be to obtain themselves a wearable Runescape rare item. I mean this is probably one of the ultimate challenges in Runescape these days considering the prices it costs for such rare items.
The challenge of obtaining a Runescape Rare Item
Working on skills and raising levels in Runescape is one thing, but the goal doesn’t change, you just need to mine X amount of coal or iron to get X level or fish X amount of lobsters to get X fishing level, but one target that is forever changing is the goal of earning enough Runescape gold to buy a Runescape rare item. Currently, as at September 2006, santa hats, the cheapest of the wearable Runescape rare items are selling for 25 million gp which is far in excess of most Runescape players’ budgets. So to be able to work for and save up enough money to purchase one of these items is surely one of the greatest Runescape achievements. This achievement doesn’t even take into consideration the fact that the inflation in the Runescape rare item market is insane, we are talking 100%+ every year. So unless you can make millions of Runescape gold virtually overnight you will no doubt be paying more that you original expect to pay for such items. This increasing price makes this one of those challenges where the level of achievement is forever ever moving upwards making you work harder, smarter and longer to reach your goals.

For me Runescape was always about reaching little goals, and I can’t help but feel that this is the way that so many other Runescape players play this game. So if reaching goals is what one of the major attractions of Runescape I can’t help but feel that the big daddy of the Runescape goals has to be obtaining a Runescape rare item, and if obtaining this Runescape rare item soon becomes impossible then maybe Runescape’s popularity may start to diminish as well.

Runescape Items

Runescape Items – Rares, Duplicators & Free Runescape Items
Runescape is a simple and free game played by millions of people and one of the most enjoyable parts of it is collecting all the Runescape items that are available. There are literally thousands upon thousands of items to collect in Runescape. Some are obviously more valuable, rare and prized than others. There are even items that no longer are able to be created which has created a whole industry of specific Runescape item trading in itself. This is the Runescape rare item market consisting of things like party hats, santa hats, holloween masks plus a few other items that are so sort after that it costs millions of Runescape gold to just buy one of these items.

Runescape Rare Items – Holiday Drops
These Runescape rare items, often referred to as holiday drops, were a feature of Runescape back when the game was in its first couple of years. Essentially Jagex had items spawn in different locations all around Runescape on certain holidays, namely Christmas, Easter and Halloween and these free holiday item drops were meant to be a celebration of the event, and well these yearly events only happened once a year so these particular Runescape items were only able to be collected on one specific day of the year and it didn’t take long before people realized that while demand for these items was increasing but the supply was always decreasing as less and less of these items could be found on the market. This of course forced the prices up to the point where they are now, at millions of Runescape gold to buy just one of these items, and with every passing month the price of such Runescape items just continues to climb.

Runescape Item Duplicator
The only time that the prices of these particular Runescape rare items have ever really crashed was when someone managed to create a Runescape item duplicator. Of course they used this item duplicator to start duplicating Runescape items, and not just any Runescape items, the Runescape rare items, mainly pink party hats which were at the time worth many, many millions of Runescape gold. Obviously Jagex and the Runescape market realized that there was a sudden influx of party hats for sale on the market and as such they found out how players were duplicating Runescape items and removed the glitch from the game. The damage however was already done, the Runescape rare item market had already crashed and with knowledge that it was possible to create a Runescape item duplicator to exploit runscape glitches put added uncertainty in the rare item market and prices stayed low for quite awhile.

Runescape Rare Items for Sale
A lot like Runescape gold there are many Runescape rare item sellers that will actually sell rare Runescape items for money as well as have other runescape items for sale. Of course this is against Jagex’s rules this doesn’t stop the trading from taking place. Now whilst some people opt to buy there Runescape rare items from such gold selling stores many players spend countless hours saving their Runescape gold up to be able to afford such items. Players literally spend months saving for these particular Runescape items and with the rate at which prices inflate for these items it is near impossible to be able to earn the money without the price having doubled by the time they have saved enough gold for their prized rare item.

Free Runescape Items Beggars
If there is one thing you should expect once you do start to wear some of the more expensive Runescape items it is that you should prepare for the onslaught of free Runescape item beggars that will begin to approach you asking for free Runescape items. It seems that because Runescape in itself is a free game that it draws somewhat of the cheapskate sort of attitude out of many people to the point where they are constantly harassing those that have spent many hours working hard to get their Runescape items for them to give them free Runescape items just because they believe they can afford it. Of course I’m not suggesting that just because there are people that will beg for free Runescape items that it is not worth your time to try and get such wearable rare items, more just suggesting that you should be aware of the fact that when wearing certain items it can draw undue attention.

Well best of luck on your road to collecting your Runescape items. Make sure you also have fun along the way
