Released at the end of 2003, Twelve Sky Gold is a martial arts MMORPG which has been in service in South Korea for five years. As time goes on, Twelve Sky Gold is a little outdated in some aspects. In 2007, the developer GigasSoft put great efforts into it’s expansion, from which we can see great improvements in the graphics. However, an expansion is not enough to solve all the problems, and making a sequel is considered as the best choice. And so comes Twelve Sky Gold 2. At this year’s Chinajoy we had the opportunity to talk with Seo Hyojung, the strategic division director of Gigassoft, and let him show more details of the Twelve Sky Gold 2 to us.

MMOsite: Hello, thanks for taking our interview. Can you give us a brief introduction to your development team and your company Gigassoft to our readers?

Seo Hyojung: Thank you! About our development team, we are very proud that the team developed our own game engine, GXD, which is now used in Twelve Sky Gold. And the upgraded GXD engine has already been adopted in Twelve Sky Gold 2. I think some users may have already felt the obvious graphic improvements of the upgraded game engine in the Korean version Twelve Sky Gold 2. And currently, we are preparing to set up a new studio in China. I think you see some new titles developed by this studio in the future.

MMOsite: We know you will attend this year’s ChinaJoy. How many times have you been to ChinaJoy? What’s your comment on ChinaJoy, particularly the 2008 ChinaJoy?

Seo Hyojung: Actually this is the first time for us to attend ChinaJoy. It’s really amazing to see so many players there, because, you know, it’s summer and really very hot.

And in this year’s ChinaJoy, our Chinese publisher, GFyoyo, has a booth for Twelve Sky Gold 2. I can see that the players around it are all very excited. That’s make me very happy, because we can see in the player’s faces our efforts will be rewarded.

As the biggest online game market, ChinaJoy is drawing the eyes of all the developer and publishers in the world. I think it will soon be an international game industry occasion just like E3.

MMOsite: Do you have any exciting news relating to ChinaJoy 2008 to share with us? What titles are you showcasing at this year’s ChinaJoy? Any new titles?

Seo Hyojung: I just said that our new title, Twelve Sky Gold 2, has a booth on this year’s ChinaJoy! So, the Chinese players will be able to enjoy it before the end of this year.

And certainly, we have several other titles under development. But since they are not finished, you can not see them on this year’s ChinaJoy. But I believe players will be able to see them in the near future!

MMOsite: OK, let’s talk something about Twelve Sky. First, as an introductory overview, how will you describe Twelve Sky to those who are unfamiliar with this game?

Seo Hyojung: High level-up speed, exciting PVP system, simple UI and easy control! And the most important thing is that new players can always find help and friends in the game.

MMOsite: Twelve Sky is well known for its unique battle system. Can you basically introduce the system to us? Are there any innovative elements which set it aside from other fantasy MMORPGs?

Seo Hyojung: Yes, we are very proud with the battle system in Twelve Sky Gold. It’s the most appealing part in our game actually. You know, after level 30, players can get into battle fields and fight with the other factions. If you win, you will have the right to use some specific dungeons, where special rewards exist. And after level 70, players are able to join in a specific battlefield, Yongok Valley. You can break the other factions’ shields there and invade into their maps.

For innovative elements, I think the most successful part we did is to bind PVP system with Twelve Sky Gold seamlessly! That’s exactly what makes our game stand out from the other MMORPGs!

Battle System

12 Sky Gold features a battle system that is both solo and party friendly. Monsters are easier to defeat than in most MMORPG’s which gives the 12 Sky Gold player more opportunities to explore instead of just grinding. When you do spend time fighting Non-playing Characters (NPCs), there are a few features that make things a little more interesting. One is the ‘Parts System’ that allows your character to hit the upper, middle, and lower body 12 Sky Gold parts of enemies resulting in different death animations. After you get some fighting practice in, heads will definitely roll.

Player vs. Player (PvP)

12 Sky Gold is designed around making an intense PvP experience for 12 Sky Gold players. When you create a character, you swear allegiance to a clan, and you must do everything in your power to expand its power. This generally means joining the various clan battles constantly raging across the land. Be careful though, even if your clan is beating another in battle, a third clan may take you by surprise.

Skills

The battle 12 Sky Gold system is based around the mastery of various martial art skills. Skill points are earned after each new level, which can be used to learn new moves or master the ones you have. Not all skills are based on combat. Like a ninja, you must learn to leap from rooftop to rooftop to avoid detection, or cross chasms to reach advanced areas. It will take more than brawn to fulfill your destiny.

Recently, 12 Sky Gold II ended its stress test and announced . During the Stress Test , the concurrent online players have hit 15,000. However, many players who are joined the stress test, are considered 12 Sky Gold II as an “M for Mature” rating MMORPG. Because in the game, all characters both role playing characters and monsters can be naked. Monsters in some maps can be naked gradually when you attack them. For this, some players expressed it’s unacceptable, they argued that the game developer should considered requirements from female players and minors.

12sky Gold doesn’t have meticulous graphics. And Gigas Soft make great efforts to improve the graphics in 12sky Gold 2 to make up the deficiency. The characters, monsters, weapons and armors in 12sky Gold 2 feature bright and contrasting colors and we can see neater and more delicate lines, stripes and richer emotions in the game.

Enhanced monster fighting and war system

12sky Gold 2 also features a more refined monster fighting style. And the company’s in-house developed game engine will improve the players’”feel of beat” which is not strong in 12sky Gold. Runescape is full of fun and exciting items, specially dropped on special occasions such as Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. Some of these items that were dropped years back in the world of Runescape have been extremely rare, and thus extremely valuable. For example, the Santa Hat of Christmas 2002. When dropped, they were only worth around 30k (30,000 GP) each, but now their worth has soared to the millions! This has been the same for items such as Halloween masks of 2003, and also Easter Eggs. Sadly this trend can’t happen with non-tradable items (not fair, I have a Scythe) but, that makes those non-tradable items even more rare even though you can’t sell them (yay!).

That moves us swiftly onto the Runescape Party Hat. These were dropped a while back too, and are the most commonly talked about rare item around.

Runescape party hats, often referred to as Runescape phats, were introduced into the game in Christmas of 2001. These Runescape party hats were not actually dropped in Runescape themselves rather they were introduced through the form of Runescape party crackers. These party crackers were dropped in Runescape for free and players were able to pick them up and then use them on other players. Then just like with normal party crackers inside there was an item accompanied by a party hat.
One player would get the item, which was random, while the other player would get the party hat. Now at the time obtaining the item that the party cracker contained was normally far more valuable but within a matter of weeks these Runescape party hats became exceedingly valuable as people realized that there was obviously a limited number of them available.

So with the dropping of these party crackers and party hats a new market was created, the Runescape rare items market. People began collecting these party hats attempting to collect Runescape party hat sets which are basically where a player had all the different colors of party hats, which includes, blue, white, green, yellow, red and pink (purple). Quest Instructions:
1. You can start this by talking to Squire who is located in the White Knight’s Fortress in Falador. He will ask you go to talk to Reldo who is located in Varrock Castle Library. Make sure you do not ask him for a quest since you already started The Knight’s Sword quest when you first talked to to the Squire.

2. After talking to Reldo, you will talk to Thurgo. Make sure you have you’re redberry pie with you when going over there. You can find him in Port Sarim.

3. Give him the redberry pie and it will get him in a better mood than he currently is at the moment. After finding out what he needs, a picture, then head over to the White Knight’s Fortress and talk to the Squire to find more information about the picture. While you’re still in the White Knight’s Fortress head over to you’re east and upstairs.

4. You should find you’re way up there with the images above. Once you get to the cup board, search it and you will find a picture. Take this picture along with you’re two iron bars, blurite ore and picture to Thurgo. If you do not have a blurite ore, then when you get to Thurgo you can go down the cave which is next to Thurgo’s area and you can find some blurite rocks in there so mine them and you will get some blurite ores. Make sure you are at least a level 10 mining and have a pickaxe along with you.

5. After you have all you’re items, take them all to Thurgo and he’ll create the sword for you.

Congratulations, quest completed! Simply take the sword to the Squire and he’ll give you you’re reward.

The firemaking skill is rather a pretty simple and easy to gain skill level. Here’s a little table that shows you the level requirements in order to cut these most common logs.

Provided here is a step by step guide on how you can bring up you’re firemaking skill. There is only one way to doing this but you can still do it differently to save time or money. Everything will be explained below.

1. If you have enough gold coins, then I would suggest you to buy the logs instead of cutting them to save time. In order to save money, you can cut all the logs yourself. You can either start by cutting all the logs that you will need or you can either purchase it from a any store or any member. If purchasing from members, make sure you check out the Runescape Forums to find if any members are providing cheap logs in big amounts. Depending on you’re level, collect about 1,000 logs of which is the maximum you can do. For example if you are a level 1 firemaking, then you would start off by collecting 1,000 normal logs.

2. To light you’re logs you will need a tinderbox. You can purchase these from almost any general store and if you already one then you can head over to the bank. Clear out you’re inventory and take one tinder box and 27 logs. Simply go outside the bank and lit them all and continue to do this process until all you’re logs are gone.

3. Once you’re 1,000 stack of logs is all gone, try and see if you meet the required level for another type of log to save you a lot of time. The better the log, the more XP you will be rewarded each time you burn them. Now if you did meet a new required level, then go ahead and buy 1,000 stack of logs for the next log. You will be spending more gold coins or time when collecting these new logs as it takes more time to cut them the higher you go but it’s worth it when you’re earning more XP per log you burn.

Given here is two ways to bring up you’re firemaking level. Either by cutting all you’re logs that you will need or by buying all the logs that you will need. It will get boring as you get higher but it will be well worth it once you can burn yew logs or magic logs (if you are a member).

There are several ways of making money one Runescape. To you, some of these ways may be fun to you and others might not be fun. This article will show you all the ways that you can earn money so at the end; you can choose which one you prefer. Everyone has their likes so this will help you choose yours. There are two parts to this guide and the first part displays how members only can make money on Runescape and the second part displays how both members and non members can make money on Runescape. If you want to start earning Runescape money really quicker, then becoming a member is what you need to do!

Members Only
Picking Up Flax:
1. Absolutely nothing is needed to be able to pick up flax. Go over to Camelot and go down to the Flax area where there’s only flax there and start picking them up. Keep going back and forth to the bank.

(Area where you can find flax to pick up.)

2. Make sure your inventory is empty to make it quicker to get 1,000 flax. Once you have collected 1,000 flax, then go to the same bank which is nearby the flax area and sell your flax’s for 100 gold coins each. A total of 100k is earned for just picking up some flax.

Spinning Flax into Bow Strings:
You must have a crafting level of 10 in order to spin flax. If you have a crafting level of 10, then you can start off by either purchasing 1k flax from someone or by picking them up. Buying these will make you save more time and at the same time still make profits. The profits are less though. Simply once you have your flax take them to the spinning wheel and spin them. Go back and forth doing this and after a few trips, you will be completed. Sell your bow strings for 180-200 each, ending you up with 180-200k profits. If you had bought the flax, then your profit will be 80-100k for spinning them.

Woodcutting (Maples):
1. Get a woodcutting level of 45 to cut maples.
2. Go down to the Camelot which has maple trees right across from it. These trees are very close to the bank so it won’t take long to walk to the bank.
3. Cut 1,000 maple logs and sell them to other members for 80-100 each. Total will be 80k-100k for all of them!

Woodcutting (Magics):
1. To be able to start cutting magics, you will need a level of 75 which is the highest to cut any tree.
2. Take a rune axe and start cutting them. You can get bored off of cutting as it takes longer than yews to cut.
3. Cut 1,000 magic logs and sell them. Each log is worth 1k! That’s a lot of money.
4. Once completed sell them at the bank to other members and earn 1,000,000 Gold coins!

Members/Non Members
Woodcutting (Willows):
1. Get a woodcutting level of 30 to cut willows.
2. Go down to Lumbridge and cut 1,000 willow logs. The bank is right next to you so this makes it quick and easy to store them up.
3. Once you have 1,000 willow logs, then go ahead and sell them for 30 coins each and easily get 30k gold!

Woodcutting (Yews):
1. After cutting so many logs and having your woodcutting level become 60, you can now cut Yew logs!
2. Get a rune axe and find somewhere where there is a Yew tree that has a bank right next to it to make the traveling time shorter.
3. Start cutting Yew trees to get some logs. You will need to collect a about 3,500 of them.
4. Once completed, take all these logs to the bank and sell them to the other members. You can sell all these for 1,000,000 gold coins! Yea, that is a lot of zeros.

Steel Bars:
1. Steel bars are used to make things such as armour. You are going to have a minimum of a mining level of 30 to be able to mine iron ores and coal.|
2. Start out by mining 2,000 coal since this is the hardest part. Once done with this, go ahead and start cutting 1,000 iron ores.
3. Take your iron ores and coal to the furnace and smelt them into steel bars. When completed, you should have a total of 1,000 steel bars.
4. Head over to a bank in Falador and sell each steel bar for 500 coins each! You should have a total of 500k when you sell all of them.

Combat:
There are plenty of different ways to make money by combat since there are a ton of things to fight. Try fighting the monsters that drops good items and then resell these items. Also, sell when you have a lot of that items. If you are fighting wizards and you keep getting runes, then keep fighting until you have about 500-1,000 runes of each. This will not only benefit you in getting more money but also in your combat levels also.

Mining Iron Ores:
1. Locate the iron rocks in Varrock and start mining them.
2. Mine as much as 1,000 iron ores. This may take time but it’s worth it at the end.
3. When your done, take them to one of the bank in Varrock and sell them for 50 gold coins each bringing you a total of 50,000 gold once sold.

Collecting Seeds:
1. Take an axe and find willow or yew trees. You can pick others but these are more effective when looking for seeds.
2. Now keep cutting trees and you will find out that bird nests usually falls out of the trees.
3. Store all you’re logs and seeds in the bank. Once you have a lot of them, then sell them all. Seeds are worth a lot so search before you actually sell them to make full profits.
4. Not only will you make money from the seeds but also in the logs too.
(Seeds are worth around 1k-200k each.)

Making Armour:
1. Create as much bars as you can of any kind. The best possible that you can make would always be the best one to create.
2. Take them to Anvil and smith you’re bars into armour. Trying making the armours in sets so that it can be easier to sell to people.
3. The prices will vary depending on what kind of armour you make, but if you do make a lot of sets then you can end up with a good junk of money.

Some say that the Wilderness in Runescape is dangerous; with this Wilderness Pking guide it won’t only be not dangerous, but also very profitable. How is the Wilderness profitable you may ask? Its simple, if you have the skills ad the stats to be able to kill other players in the Wilderness you could become very rich very fast.

Now that you know you can make some cash from PKing your probably wondering what kind of character to use, Mage, Range, or Melee. Well in this section ill explain the pros and cons of each.

Mage:
Pros: Hits hard, long range
Cons: Hits slow, cost a lot, low armor/defense

Range:
Pros: Hits fast, long range, cheap
Cons: Hits low, low armor/defense

Melee:
Pros: Hits fast, hits hard, cheap, good armor/defense
Cons: Short range, loose a lot when you die

As you can see they all have there advantages and disadvantages, but to figure out witch one you PK best with you will have to try them out yourself.

Now that you have a PKer you need to know who to attack, this is actually really simple if you think about it, but just for you air heads out there ill make a little diagram.

Mage » Melee » Range

What this means is that Mage beats Melee, because their spell get stronger through the warriors armor. Melee beats Range, because the warrior’s sword cuts through the ranger’s leather armor, and the rangers arrows don’t go through the warrior’s armor. Range beats mage, because the Mages spells don’t go through the ranger’s leather armor very well, and the ranger’s arrows go right through the mages robes.

All of the things above tell you how to kill the other player, but now ill teach you how to stay alive when someone is attack you. There are two ways to stay alive if you are under attack, one is the obvious and it is to eat food, the best food to bring if you are free to play is lobster and they cost about 200 each, they heal 12 HP in one bite. The best thing to eat if you are members is sharks, sharks are a bit more expensive at 1k each, but they are worth it because they heal 20 HP in one bite. The other way to stay alive if you are under stack is to use your prayer, while Pking prayer is extremely useful because it can give you added bonus to any combat skill including defense.

You know how to PK, what to bring, and what to kill, the only thing now is where to PK. So here is a list of all the major Pking places in the Wilderness and who PKs there.

Tips:

Try to PK in a team to you won’t die as much, the only bad thing about teams is a lot of times your team will back stab you and kill you.
Bring some potions that boost your combat stats so you can kill your enemy faster.
Always leave some run left so just incase you run low on food or get attack by a clan you can still escape.
Always be looking at your radar for white dots, its always better if you see them first.
