Runescape Money Making Guide - Introduction

There are plenty of ways to make money in Runescape but this guide is suitable for any level 1 newbie. It doesn’t matter whether you are a free or paid member, anyone can do this and rack up a few thousand gold in an hour or so.

Feather Collecting by Killing Chickens

Feathers (that drop from lowly chickens) are in huge demand in Runescape. They are used by members to make arrows which are needed to raise the fletching skill. They need thousands of feathers to get their skills high so these higher level members will pay a lot of money for feathers.

The prices vary from world to world. On the free worlds you can usually get 5-7gp each and on members world as much as 12gp each. However, you will only get this kind of money if you sell in bulk - like 1000 feathers at a time.

But don’t worry, chickens drop between 5 and 15 feathers at a time, and I will show you a spot where you can kill continuously. I got 1000 feathers in a little under an hour.

Getting to the Chicken Farm

The map below shows the location of the chicken farm in relation to Lumbridge which is the starting town. You can of course kill any chickens and there are lots of places to find them in the game, but this is the easiest one to get to if you’re just starting out and the chickens respawn really fast here.

Just follow the path north from Lumbridge and you can’t miss the farm as the chickens wander around on the road outside it.
