Jagex is finally taking action but is being very harsh. Every autoer they detect, they will IP ban you. That means you cannot have access to playing Runescape unless you proxy. If you do proxy and get caught, I believe you can get in big trouble, so I wouldn’t take that risk. If you are auoting, which you shouldn’t be, I would stop as soon as possible. As you can see I guess they’re tired of it, and can’t other solutions to getting rid of Autoers, and are finally stepping up to the plate.

Why didn’t they do this before the wilderness?

I still remembered that one time in 05′ or 06′ when they got really sick of it and banned 60,000 autoers which most players strted noticing there weren’t alot of lvl3’s at yews anymore for a month or two. I wich they just id mass I.P. bannings. Wouldv’e been a lot better of a choice than the pvp thing and trade limit, making players quit.

 

Jagex have always had to resort to IP bans for autoers, so your friend must have had his first IP ban for him to come to such a conclusion that they are just now acting out of remorse for those who played fairly.

Unfortunately, people are able to change their I.P addresses with ease nowadays, so it wouldn’t be too great of a task to bypass Jagex’s defense against RWTers. Also, with the current wilderness we have, and the amount of satisfied responses it’s been receiving, it’s further reason to doubt the old wilderness will return. There’s not too much incentive to RWT though nowadays, especially with how difficult it still is to trade.
