This year´s spooky event has arrived! A few months ago we posted a Guaranteed Content Poll on the website allowing you to choose the nature of the Halloween event and the rewards you´d get. After working our fingers to the bone we´ve made something to meet all of your wishes!

The Grim Reaper has opened up his house for this special occasion. His previous servant has taken a turn for the worse and the Reaper has applied for a new assistant to help with his household chores. Now, when we say ´household chores´, don´t go expecting to be polishing furniture, ironing or mopping the floor, you´ll be clambering through a maze of cobwebs, avoiding traps, wading through goo and trying to avoid getting eaten by his pet hellhound, Muncher.

The website developmag has released an article, Runescape developer Jagex has revealed it is working on a brand new MMO due for launch in March 2009.

The unnamed MMO was revealed by CEO Geoff Iddison during a panel discussion at today’s GameHorizon Conference in Newcastle.

Dubbed ‘Nextscape’ by Iddison, the game was said to incorporate as Runescape does, a variety of business and subscription models to drive consumer engagement, he said.

However, although the company has run its successful Runescape MMO since 2001, offering biweekly content updates with the new property due to join it early next year, Iddison said that Jagex’ real value isn’t its IP, but its infrastructure.

“We’ve got an infrastructure behind Runescape which is the real silver of the Jagex, the value of the company,” said Iddison. “It’s not the game, the game is going to come and go,” he said.

“The infrastructure is the thing that can scale. Runescape has 10 years of good growth, but the infrastructure is infinitely scalable,” he added of Jagex’ vast operation of servers and online support teams.
Although Jagex employs 400 people at its Cambridge, UK HQ, only 25 per cent are dedicated to development. Half the staff are focused on content and support while the rest are dedicated to that infrastructure.

OK, my point here, is that overall, i like the god spells. they pretty strong and fun to use and they come with one of those cool staffs. But when i go use them,they look like they would barely harm the weakest warriors.ill give you some examples: Zamoraks god spell;just a little fire beneath their feet. thats it??? it looks more as if zamorak is a little kid playing with matches and made a tiny fire.What if when the spell is used, huge flames engulf the enemy? wouldnt that add much more fear to the attack, not to mention more cool looking?? Even saradomin’s spell,its just a tiny blue lightning bolt. nothing more. Now if you had a humongous blue, crackling bolt of pure electricity exploding over your head, you would probably be more terrified. My main point is that the looks of the god spells are basicly very small and weak looking, when with very large capibilities even possibilly reaching to hit 30 when you charge it. I think such a strong spell deserves a stronger look also.EDIT: X D X P X suggested there should be an auto cast option on the god staffs to cast the spell.this sounds like another thing that should be added to this situation cuz i remember having to choose the spell so many times in the mage arena. ;)

I almost never use god spells, mainly because of their cost, but if they suddenly had all new amazing Emotes I’d definately use them!

Though, we could just wait and see what the new graphics updates bring us!

Melee is overpowered

One solution would be to make the portal in which you enter/exit bounty hunter NOT regain your special attacks, therefore negating the effects.

Another would be that they simply ner* these items that cost very little money to actually hit a realistic amount. Even 99 str should not hit more than 25-25, bearing in mind 99 rangers can only hit 24 24 with a far better range bonus, and with more expensive items.

You forgot that dds has atrocious accuracy and usually hits 0-0. Dark Bow always hits.

Firstly, as someone with 99 range let me remind dark bow DOESN’T always hit and I use full void.

Secondly, even if the accuracy is bad, which in my experience it is not, it is simply NOT fair to be capable of killing someone with one spec of an item that is worth 25k.

I see what you mean, but dark bows with full void knight, dragon arrows and the spec can hit 48-48, but only once then you need to wait. DDS, um… 45-45 4 times in a row…

And the guy means the dark bow’s special attacks never miss.

I see what you mean, but can i say that the dark bow DOES NOT have the capability to kill someone on full hp, whereas the 4 spec’s which the dragon dagger has EASILY has the capability.

Nevertheless, in my experience with 99 range and full void, i have never hit over a combined 60, and I have bounty huntered alot.

But even if you could hit 48 48, it would be much more fair because:

1) You are risking alot more money
2) You only get one spec, meaning you should hit alot more

dont even talk about risking money.

rangers are also called raggers by most pkers because they risk nothing. Range gear cost 15k for black dhides..a lot less than rune armor yet rune armor doesnt cut it for melee, especially against rangers.

The Dark Bow spec always hits — it never misses its spec.

The dds is one of the most inaccurate weapons.

The chance that you even ladn 2 of your specs is remote.

With just str ammy and climbing boots, your max with dds isn’t going to be high.

Btw, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Rangers use a 9k cbow to hit 70s while it cost melee 100 mil to hit 70 with AGS. I should know, I have an AGS and have already lost 9 mil due to price falling.

Simply saying you do not like something or stating it should be changed is not posting in a constructive way.

Please read the code of conduct and the forum specific rules at the top of each forum before you continue to post.

Why not offer a solution on how to stop pjing and/or to improve bh, then this will not be locked.

Right now, however, this is spam.

This is a warning against being abusive towards Forum & Player Moderators.

It has come to our attention that a number of users who have had their threads locked, hidden or some other action taken against them, have been searching for the Forum Moderator responsible in-game, entering their clan chat channel and proceeding to behave in an abusive manner.

This is considered harassment and will NOT be tolerated.

More importantly, the Forum Moderators work on an entirely voluntary basis. They receive no in-game benefits, free items or membership credit.

I honestly don’t think any of the combat skills are overpowered. It all comes down to the skills of the pker, or whatever monster you are fighting.

Like any game, it takes strategy.

Defence Levels ( not armour ) under powered

All armours and weapon under price

They are NOT balanced. Melee has and will hit 60+ with the armadyl godsword, range RARELY hits 45X45, and mage can only hit a wimpy 30. Range I think it is ok for now because it has strong fast high hits, but mage, cmon? I say bring in a lvl 99 spell in the ancient spellbook and it freezes, poisons, leeches 25% of health and reduces their stats slightly. It should require like 5 of every rune thats required in the ancients spellbook except for laws and souls.

In my opinion nothing is overpowered now that rangers got their d bow and made their c bows faster and stronger, now they can hit as hard as melee just a bit slower but its fine like that.

Mages are not so good in a 1v1 because they have bad defence and if they start farcasting the other teles or escapes etc. Though mages can really own in deep wilderness obviously and they can also own if they have tb, entangle and another powerful spell with them.

Mage is now underpowered. Melee can DDS for 38-38 with max strength boost, ranged can hit 45-45 with max power boost, yet magic can hit a mere 35 with all bonuses. That’s not much for a knockout. Granted, they can keep melee away, but ranged can KO melee, melee can KO magic. Magic cannot KO ranged, as even if they farcast, ranged can cover the distance.

I know of the triangle - melee can tank against normal ranged attacks, ranged can fend off magic attacks and tear up even the best robes with ease, and magic can hit about 20 million times in a row against melee armor. It’s just that every class needs a way to KO the class that’s supposed to win. The possibility of an upset will keep everybody on their toes.
